San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk took his new $90,000 Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk out for a spin without being aware of the tension he has to face with law enforcement. While driving through the highway, the police stopped Aiyuk to ask him whether the Jeep was stolen.

A video was uploaded on Aiyuk’s YouTube channel on Friday, documenting the unwrapping of his brand-new Jeep Trackhawk in his garage. After taking several shots of the vehicle, he went for a drive.

The 26-year-old was caught off guard when a patrol car ordered him to park on the side. The officer came to his window and questioned whether the Jeep belonged to him or not. A shocked Aiyuk had to defend his ownership credentials.

Brand new Trackhawk. Bro, I got the Trackhawk at 53 miles. I got pulled over at 55 miles. I’m waiting all day to get this off the truck … You know I’m about to spin; I’m about to hear the engine.

Brandon Aiyuk said on his YouTube vlog, dated February 11

The explanation did not satisfy the officer. He remained suspicious due to the recent string of thefts centered around similar vehicles. However, Aiyuk calmly denied stealing the car.

Aiyuk almost found himself in a sticky situation, but quick thinking and honesty spared him from experiencing similar treatment to Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill last year.

Why did Brandon Aiyuk miss the 2024 NFL Season?

Following 1300+ yards and a Super Bowl appearance in the 2023 season, the 49ers decided to make Aiyuk their highest-paid receiver. He signed a four-year, $120 million deal, keeping him in the Bay Area until 2026.

Unfortunately, Aiyuk tore his ACL, MCLK, and meniscus while playing the Kansas City Chiefs in October 2024. He missed the rest of the campaign and is currently in rehabilitation.

The 49ers struggled immensely without the All-Pro receiver’s presence. Both Deebo Samuel and Jauan Jennings experienced down years and battled fatigue. According to Next Gen Stats, the 49ers were dead last in average separation, which contributed to a fourth-place finish in the NFC West (6-11), for the first time since 2020.

The 49ers need Brandon Aiyuk to hit the ground running if they want to challenge the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC. Nick Sirianni’s men are undeniably the team to beat in the conference after they won Super Bowl LIX.
