New York Mets Brandon Nimmo shares a frightening episode where he talks about suddenly fainting and hurting himself in his Pentagon City hotel room. His injury led him to miss the team’s game against Washington Nationals where the Mets won by 9-7.
The incident happened on Monday around 5:15 am when he woke up feeling unwell. Apparently, he felt cramps developing when Nimmo was in the bathroom. He went to drink water, but fainted on his bathroom floor, bleeding from a cut on his head. Thankfully, according to medical reports, there’s nothing serious found.

All tests including MRI, CT scan, and EKG, came out negative. Doctors are doubting that the weather and earlier baseball games may have fatigued the player. Most likely, when he stood up after sleeping, the blood flow may have been weak in his brain which caused his fainting.
When I got the cramp it probably spiked my blood pressure and got me up. And then when I was not feeling well I started to get a little bit anxious, ‘OK, now what do I do? Where do I need to go,’ and all those kinds of things start entering the mind.Brandon Nimmo as per Mike Puma of NY Post.
Currently, the player is resting and recuperating. Apart from a minor cut on the head, he seems fine. If his condition improves the outfielder may be seen practicing for Tuesday’s game.
Brandon Nimmo “scared and confused” after being hospitalized for suddenly fainting
Many doubted if Brandon Nimmo’s sudden fainting was linked to his June freak accident. However, the player confirmed that it was not the case, and it was an accident that should only cost him a single game. With Nimmo being out of the lineup, Jeff McNeil stepped up on Monday to fill the left field.

After struggling for a few minutes to stop the bleeding, Nimmo called NY Mets trainer Joe Golia who later admitted him to the hospital. Team GM Carlos Mendoza recalls being “pretty scary” after getting a call from Golia. Further talking about his feelings, Nimmo mentioned,
I’ve never fainted. There’s never been a moment in my life that I, like, cannot get back. It’s a weird feeling.Brandon Nimmo as per Anthony DiCommo of MLB.com.
