“I got a little overzealous,” Recently returned Superstar reveals what it was like to get knocked out by Brock Lesnar
Braun Strowman doesn't have the greatest of in-ring memories with Brock Lesnar.

It doesn’t get any worse than ticking Brock Lesnar off deep into a match. Hailing from a mixed martial arts background, Lesnar’s striking prowess is indeed a jarring one. It resonates even better when someone is on the receiving end. And who better than Braun Strowman to narrate? Recently, The Monster of All Monsters was a guest on Chris Van Vliet‘s Insight podcast.
Strowman detailed what exactly went down between him and Lesnar in 2018 at the Royal Rumble PLE. They were involved in a triple-threat bout for the Universal Championship that also included Kane. However, midway through the match, there was a moment of shoot fight. Braun had inadvertently connected a knee to Brock’s face. The Beast returned the favor with interest when he chin-checked The Monster on the side of his head.
The impact was so menacing that it relegated Braun Strowman to spaghetti legs. While admitting that he got a little overzealous in there, Braun knew he had the receipt coming from Lesnar. The 40-year-old asserted that incidents like those happen in pro-wrestling, it’s not ballet. Despite being clobbered on the head, the former Wyatt Family member went the distance.
I got a little overzealous with him and he had to check me. At the end of the day it's two big dominant dudes out there going at it, and things happen, this ain't ballet.Braun Strowman on Insight podcast
He boasted about being the only human on earth who didn’t faze into darkness despite being jabbed by the 10-time World Champion. The two never butted heads over that freak accident again. Water seems well under the bridge.
Speaking of Braun, he returned on this week’s Raw after a lengthy absence. The North Carolina native ran through Finn Balor and almost caught Logan Paul. On the other hand, Brock Lesnar is still on a hiatus after his alleged involvement in the Janel Grant-filed lawsuit.
What’s being said about Brock Lesnar’s WWE return?
Initially, The Beast Incarnate was set to return at this year’s Royal Rumble. However, the former UFC ace was identified as the anonymous wrestler mentioned in Janel Grant’s lawsuit on Vince McMahon. The details were so grotesque that WWE eventually decided against a Lesnar comeback.
At this year’s WrestleMania post-show press conference, WWE CCO Triple H was enquired about Brock’s status. Taking the safer route, Hunter claimed that The Alpha Male of Our Species is at home being himself. Moreover, The Cerebral Assassin wasn’t in a position to divulge more about The Conqueror’s whereabouts.
The 46-year-old did find a place in Paul Heyman‘s Hall of Fame speech a night before WrestleMania XL. The fans were shocked to hear the namedrop but also felt that Heyman’s address would’ve been amiss without a mention of his former client.
