Neymar Jr. may not have been called up to represent Brazil at this year’s Copa America. However, that did not stop the 32-year-old from celebrating his heart out as Brazil picked up their first win at the tournament. Neymar has been sidelined for over eight months now after picking up a serious knee injury while on international duty.

Brazil picked up a statement 4-1 win against Paraguay at Allegiant Stadium, much to the relief of fans worldwide. Neymar mirrored the same emotions as cameras panned to the player after each Brazil goal. It wasn’t long ago that the player had his head in hands as he witnessed Brazil’s frustrating draw against Costa Rica.

Vinicius Jr. ends Brazil goal drought with stunning brace

Vinicius Jr. was truly the main man for Brazil as they picked up a statement win at the tournament. After a mediocre display against Costa Rica, the Real Madrid man was on a mission to put an end to his long running goal drought for the national team. The game against Paraguay proved to be a monumental milestone for him, as he scored multiple goals for the first time in a Brazil kit.

His first of the game was indeed a team effort, as he, Rodrygo, and Lucas Paqueta combined to produce one of the goals of the tournament. The forward’s celebration revealed just how relieved he was to get off the mark. It didn’t take long for his second to arrive as Vinicius himself put in the work this time around.

The player chased the ball up until the opposition’s penalty area, where defender Omar Alderete‘s clearance hit Vinicius on the way out and ricocheted into the net. The forward’s confidence on the ball and ability to lead from the front was applauded on social media by many. After his stunning brace, Vinicius is now amongst the top scorers at the tournament.
