Davante Adams has been quite clear with his stance, that at present, the Las Vegas Raiders are his priority. But it didn’t stop the New York Jets’ Breece Hall from imagining the possibility of having an accomplished veteran such as Adams. All thanks to quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ optimism of reuniting with his former teammate.
Since acquiring Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers last season, the Jets have been submerged with the possibility of winning the grand Super Bowl trophy. Though it may not seem as bright now, adding Adams to the roster will surely add light to it. Shortly after the veteran quarterback admitted he “can’t wait” to reunite with the receiver, Jets’ Breece Hall entered the discussion by talking as if the six-time Pro Bowler had already joined the Jets.
During the recent appearance of Up & Adams by Kay Adams, the Jets running back was asked if the Jets succeed in acquiring Adams, would it affect the chances of him being the most reliable skilled player in the upcoming season in the offensive line.
Nah, I'm getting the ball the second-most, regardless. Davante, he knows he's going to get his.Breece Hall told Kay Adams
Judging from his statement, when asked if Adams has already joined the Jets, Hall gave an indirect answer saying nothing is confirmed yet but the conversation is certainly in motion. He also said that he is truly on board with the idea of having a star-wideout like Adams in the team.
Jets determined to land elite receiving talent Davante Adams
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time that the Jets have expressed interest in signing Adams. Last season, right after the NFL trade deadline, the franchise reportedly reached out to the Raiders to explore the possibility of reuniting the Super Bowl champion and six-time Pro Bowler receiver.
However, the Raiders were firm with their decision not to trade their best player, and seeing his frustration after the team, they fired head coach Josh McDaniels and General Manager Dave Ziegler following an embarrassing MNF loss.
Despite changing the coaching staff which brought significant change in the locker room scene, the Raiders still have one big crisis to deal with and that’s the starting quarterback position. If they listen to veteran Adams, Aidan O’Connell is favored for the job.
