Lamar Jackson‘s hot streak of five straight wins ended on Thanksgiving Day. Jackson looked unsettled while facing one of the weakest defenses in the NFL.

Jackson has consistently been ranked among the top quarterbacks in the league, standing alongside stars like Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Matthew Stafford, and Jalen Hurts. He went to the Pro Bowl four times, was named an All-Pro three times, and became NFL MVP twice, nearly missing out on his third in 2024 to Allen.

Last year, he led the league in yards per attempt (8.8 yards) and passing rating (119.6), threw 41 touchdowns, had the fewest interceptions (4), and rushed 6.6 yards per carry (highest in the league).

However, Jackson’s playoff record doesn’t quite match his regular-season success. Out of 8 postseason games, he’s won only 3 and has never advanced past the divisional round. Because of this, some football pundits don’t consider him elite.

Former Bengals defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko joined them in bashing Jackson. Fehoko claimed that the Louisville graduate doesn’t possess the X-factor required to win a Super Bowl.

Ravens will never win a Super Bowl behind Lamar Jackson man. The individual regular season accolades will never equate to winning football in the playoffs. He’s Michael Vick with better PR.

Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens suffered defeat against the Bengals

Week 12’s win over the New York Jets marked the Baltimore Ravens‘ sixth win and fifth consecutive victory after losing five to start the season. The losses came during a time when Jackson was in rehab, recovering from a toe injury.

Similar to their AFC North counterparts, the Bengals struggled to find wins in Joe Burrow‘s absence. They went 1-8 and looked certain to miss out on playoff contention.

Burrow returned for the Week 13 game in Baltimore to resurrect the Bengals’ season. However, Vegas still favored the Ravens by four points.

The Bengals ultimately won the game 32-14. Jackson completed 52% of his passes for 246 yards, 1 interception, and zero touchdowns. According to StatMuse, Jackson has now gone three games without throwing a passing touchdown.

Moreover, the veteran signal caller is en route to breaking his fumble record from the 2024 season (10 fumbles and 5 possessions lost). Including the two on Thursday, Jackson’s tally rose to 6 for the year in just 9 games.

He still owns the second-best touchdown-to-interception ratio with 15 passing TDs to 4 INTs (behind Stafford, who hasn’t thrown an INT since Week 3 and has thrown 25 passing TDs since then). Moreover, he has been sacked 27 times (3.0 sacks per game).

A “ticked off” Jackson reflected on his performance after the game. Speaking with Jamison Hensley of ESPN, Jackson claimed that he needs to “be consistent.”

The Ravens blew a great opportunity to overtake the Steelers in the North. Hensley wrote that the Ravens’ chance of winning the division and qualifying for the playoffs reduced to 57% after the defeat.

The Ravens host the Steelers in Week 14. The outcome of the game could decide both franchises future.
