Bren Esports were unable to secure the visas to leave the Philippines and travel to Europe to compete in VCT Stage 3 Masters. The No.1 seeded team from the SEA region couldn’t even take part in the major LAN event hosted by Berlin. The travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 delta varient will stop Bren Esports to compete in the VCT stage 3 Masters.

Now that Bren Esports is out of Masters, the event will continue with just 15 teams. The format for the tournament will change for Group D and it will be a double round-robin, with the two top teams advancing to the elimination stage. Bren Esports will be awarded 175 VCT points and prize money for qualifying for VCT Masters Berlin. The other groups in the competition will remain the same and won’t be impacted.

On their official handle Riot said, “Ahead of Masters Berlin, Riot Games worked to secure the required travel permissions for every qualified team. Over the past month, our global mobility teams in North America, Europe, and Asia explored multiple avenues to find a solution, including engaging with relevant governmental agencies in the Philippines and Germany. But at this time,
having passed the final deadline that would allow Bren Esports to travel and attend the event, we are going to proceed. As a result of this decision, the format for the tournament will be modified and Group D, where Bren Esports was placed,
will pivot to a double round-robin, with the top two teams advancing to the Elimination Stage. Bren Esports will be
awarded 175 VCT points and the associated prize for qualifying into Masters Berlin. No other group will be impacted, and
the tournament will conclude with an eight-team single elimination bracket.”
