Brendan Rodgers plays down title talks, but believes Leicester can challenge Top 6

Leicester City defeated Chelsea 2-0 at King Power Stadium. First half goals from Ndidi and Maddison helped Rodgers’s side make light work of Chelsea.
Leicester City temporarily moved top of the Premier League after their victory yesterday. They have now played all their first round of matches and lead Manchester United by a point.
Leicester are currently Premier League table toppers

The Premier League table is very crowded at the top with no team pulling clear of the rest so far. Manchester City can replace Leicester at the top if they beat Aston Villa next.
Brendan Rodgers has therefore played down talks of Leicester winning the Premier League. He said – “I don’t really think about it, it’s something which gets floated about and we have seen it all season.”
“Tottenham a few weeks ago and Chelsea themselves, five or six weeks ago everyone was talking about them.”
“The quality of Manchester City, Liverpool are the champions and Manchester United have been great. For Leicester to be up with the level of teams who are there makes me really happy.”
Brendan Rodgers, however believes his side can challenge the Top 6 . He knows the uncertainties associated with the Premier League and doesn’t want any complacency among the squad.

‘It’s going to be a huge challenge to be up there but we are happy to take on that challenge.
‘You have seen the real spirit of the side tonight. We were a real threat going forward.
Leicester City are an improved team this season under Rodgers and have a balanced side . Leicester next play Brentford in the 4th round of FA Cup before playing Everton in the League.
