Not many would be able to name a side in the Premier League better than Liverpool at the moment. Arne Slot‘s Reds have been unstoppable this season, with the club racking up 35 points from just 14 outings.

The club sits on a four-point lead over Chelsea, despite having a game in hand. Although many consider the Reds to be title favorites, Brentford boss Thomas Frank has ‘disagreed’.

Brentford is up against Enzo Maresca‘s Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Besides Liverpool, Chelsea is the only side that has shown signs of giving the Reds a good run for their money.

With 31 points from 15 games, one wouldn’t consider the Blues to be out of the title race. Recently, Frank heaped praise on the club as he labeled it as being ‘better’ than Liverpool.

They (Chelsea) are maybe the best team in the Premier League right now. They are maybe even more in-form than Liverpool. They’re playing incredible football.

Brentford is currently in 9th position in the League, with 23 points from 15 outings. After Chelsea (35), Brentford has scored the most number of goals (31).

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca names two ‘key’ players as Premier League season heats up

Enzo Maresca has been ‘ruthless’ in terms of team selection and rotations. The Italian manager has consistently called upon Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, and a few others as the club currently sits second in the English top flight.

In a recent press conference, the manager announced his trust in two players who have come under the spotlight in recent games. To begin with, Maresca spoke of the club’s first-choice keeper, Robert Sanchez.

The Spanish keeper has started most of the games for Maresca’s side, although he has come under criticism for several mistakes. Maresca claimed that the plan remains to keep Sanchez as the first choice, although there are two backup keepers at his disposal.

Moving on to Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez, the manager explained why he was left out of the game against Astana. In the 3-1 win, Enzo wasn’t even included on the bench, raising eyebrows.

It was just a technical decision. When you leave players out, you motivate them to give something extra.

Enzo Maresca told the press

Chelsea’s next games in the PL are against Brentford, Everton and Fulham. In the UCL, the Reds take on LOSC Lille at Anfield.
