In 2022, AEW held its first Owen Hart Cup in honor of the legendary deceased wrestler. Since then, one of the few things fans have demanded has been the involvement of Bret Hart in some capacity. However, that has not been the case in any of the cups. Recently, the leader of the Hart Foundation talked about not being part of the AEW’s Owen Hart Tournament.

Speaking with Signed By Superstars, the Hitman stated that neither anyone from AEW nor Tony Khan ever asked him to be a part of the coveted tournament. He added that if he had made a cameo for AEW in the event, it would have definitely impacted his relations with WWE.

Moreover, the Excellence of Execution indicated that it would have made him feel good if AEW had approached him once to make an appearance. The last time Hart appeared in AEW was in 2019, where he presented the AEW World Championship. He has not shown up for the promotion’s programming ever since.

This year, Bryan Danielson and Mariah May won the respective men’s and women’s Owen Hart Tournaments. Both of them are going to face the world champions, Swerve Strickland and Toni Storm, at Wembley Stadium at All In. Regardless, only time will tell if Tony Khan has any response to these claims by Bret Hart amid his ongoing promotional conferences.

Bret Hart surprised top AEW star on his birthday

Bret Hart is a professional wrestling legend. He has been the favorite star for many of the current wrestlers growing up. One such star is FTR member Dax Harwood.
