After Joe Biden, Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. took his name off the upcoming presidential election in the United States. This led to many speculations that he has also lost his Secret Service protection (USSS), which he received after a long-delayed, and hard process–something that doesn’t seem too reasonable to NFL legend Brett Favre.
It all started on August 23, when RFK Jr. made a surprise appearance at Donald Trump’s rally in Glendale, Arizona, and also announced that he was withdrawing his name from 10 key states’ ballots, resulting in the revocation of his name from the Presidential election ballot.
Unlike President Biden, Kennedy Jr. decided to endorse the name of Trump for the upcoming elections. Since it’s the standard protocol for a candidate to lose his Secret Service protection once he drops out of the election, it was assumed RFK Jr. ended up losing his protection service as well.
However, former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre argued that the reason behind this is because RFK Jr. endorsed former President Trump’s name, who is part of the Republican party. That’s why, he didn’t think twice before tweeting a blunt reaction to a social media post, calling out the media and the Democratic Party.

Interestingly, there certainly is one thing Kennedy Jr. and Favre agree upon, which is to re-elect former U.S. President Trump in the coming 2024 election after being critical of the current President’s government.
How did Robert F. Kennedy Jr. receive Secret Service Protection
Before July, the independent Presidential candidate had to fund his own security since he did not have a Secret Service provider. However, after the alarming assassination attempt on Republican candidate Trump during his campaign rally in Pennsylvania in July, President Biden ordered the Secret Service provider for RFK Jr.
This special service provides protection for government officials including current and former presidents, major presidential and vice-presidential candidates, their families, and foreign delegates.
Before Biden acknowledged the gravity of the situation following the assassination attempt, Kennedy Jr. had gone through a lengthy and exhausting process of requesting Secret Service protection. However, his requests were denied, leaving him with no other option but to fund his own private security.
