The New York Yankees caused a massive uproar among baseball fans this weekend when they used new ‘Torpedo’ designed bats against the Milwaukee Brewers. As the team got crushed with this new designed bats, Brewers pitcher Trevor Megill hit out at the Yankees on Sunday.
The newly designed bats sees the Yankees uses more wood in the label part of the bat. This was done by them after conducting a research on their shortstop Anthony Volpe. The team’s analytical department would come up with this new designed bats which were used by him, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Paul Goldschmidt, Cody Bellinger and Austin Wells.
All of them homered in the 20-9 demolition of the Brewers on Saturday. This led to many fans accusing the Yankees of cheating and gaining an unfair advantage. According to the official rules though, what the Yankees did with their newly designed bats is completely legal.
Brewers pitcher Trevor Megill was not impressed with the Yankees being allowed to use. While claiming it to be “terrible“, he did admit that it was a “genius” idea from the American League team.
I think it’s terrible. We’ll see what the data says. I’ve never seen anything like it before. I feel like it’s something used in slo-pitch softball. It’s genius: Put the mass all in one spot. It might be bush [league]. It might not be. But it’s the Yankees, so they’ll let it slide.

I have no idea what they are. They should send a few over here if they’re gonna be hitting homers like that. So, whoever’s making them, you can send a few over here to Petco with this big ballpark.
