Ever since losing Juan Soto to their cross-town rivals, the New York Mets, the New York Yankees have gone into an aggressive mode in the offseason. Their General Manager Brian Cashman has now sent a clear message to their fans and urged them to ‘stay tuned’.

After falling short in the 2024 World Series, the Yankees turned much of their attention to re-signing Soto from free agency. Following weeks of conversation, speculations, and rumors, the four-time All-Star chose the Mets instead of the Yankees and penned down a historic 15-year $765 million deal.

Since the team has turned to their “Plan B”. They have added pitcher Devin Williams and two-time All-Star Cody Bellinger through trades from the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs respectively. Apart from that, they added former Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Max Fried to their rotation on an 8-year $218 million deal.

On Wednesday, Cashman took part in the introductory press conference of Fried. During this, he spoke regarding the offseason moves of the team. He was also asked what his message would be for the Yankees fans.

The 57-year-old expressed the team’s intention to return to the World Series and admitted that they will continue to work aggressively to improve the roster.

The Yankees are reported to be in talks with some other big names. As per reports, they have scheduled a meeting with free agent Roki Sasaki for next week and will try to convince him to join them during this offseason.

Apart from that, the team is also looking at some top free agents first baseman. They have been linked with players like Pete Alonso, Christian Walker, Paul Goldschmidt, and Carlos Santana. It remains to be seen who they go for in the upcoming days.

During the introductory press conference of Max Fried, Brian Cashman spoke on several other Yankees players. He also expressed his desire to see top prospect Jasson Dominguez ‘get his shot’ in the 2025 season.

The youngster has impressed the fans with his performances in the minor leagues. He made his major league debut in 2023. In his very first at-bat he in the MLB, he hit a two-run home run against veteran Justin Verlander against the Houston Astros.

In eight games, Dominguez hit four home runs. However, he suffered an elbow injury and needed surgery which saw him lose the chance to contend for a starting position in 2024. With him being healthy now, Cashman wants to see him get a chance at the Bronx in the upcoming year.

On Tuesday there had been reports that newly joined Cody Bellinger would be playing in the center field. However, coach Aaron Boone has dismissed those talks. This could see Dominguez slot in the center field position besides Bellinger and Aaron Judge, who could go back to the right field.
