The season isn’t going too well for the New York Giants, as they sunk at the bottom in the NFC East division with a season-standing of 2-3. The chances of a successful run against the Cincinnati Bengals appear bleak, especially since they officially confirmed that star wide receiver Malik Nabers will miss his second consecutive game of the season.
After suffering a concussion in Week 4, the rookie receiver has been in strict concussion protocol which he must abide by in order to get on the field quickly. However, fans are a little skeptical about his injury ever since he was spotted attending Travis Scott’s concert at MetLife stadium–where he has been skipping the practice sessions.
Loud music and bright lights are strictly prohibited in the concussion protocol as the patient becomes overly sensitive to it. And hardly any patient is seen attending a concert just a couple of weeks after suffering a concussion.
With a series of questions arising in the minds of fans, head coach Brian Daboll was finally asked to address Nabers’ visit to Scott’s concert, but he refused to add any flames to the growing fire.
Yeah, I’ll keep that all in-house.

Additionally, he clarified that Nabers’ night out at a concert did not violate any rules regarding the concussion protocol. The wide receiver is said to pass the stage where he’s sensitive to sound and light, and this concert provided him with a much-needed respite.
Head Coach Brian Daboll updates Malik Nabers’ recovery progress
Even though the Giants head coach didn’t give any reaction to Nabers’ attending the American rapper’s concert, he addressed the questions regarding the rookie’s progress before Friday’s practice session.
As he has not been participating in the team’s official practice sessions, he has been given light drills for practice and there’s surely progress in his recovery.

He’ll be doing stuff out on the field, more like he was doing the last two days. He’ll do some more than he did [Thursday]. We’re making progress, but that’s never anything you want to rush.

The 2024 sixth-overall pick has quickly established a prominent name for himself within the league. In the last four games he played before getting injured, he caught 35 passes, 386 yards and three touchdowns. Until he recovers and takes over the field, Darius Slayton has been covering for him.
