(Video) ‘Furious’ Brian Kelly bangs table in frustration at press conference after tough loss to USC: “I’m not doing a good enough job as a coach”
LSU Tigers head coach Brian Kelly lost his cool at the post game press conference after his side lost narrowly in the final moments against USC Trojans on Sunday night.

Brian Kelly and the #13th ranked LSU Tigers had a tough but not impossible-to-win fixture against the #23rd ranked USC Trojans. However, a few bad play calls and on-field decisions going against them tipped the balance of the tie in the Trojans’ favor.
LSU led the game 17-13 going into the fourth quarter. They fell behind from a Trojans touchdown. In the following drive, the Tigers had to settle with only a field goal, which tied the score back again.
However, things took a turn for the worse in the late moments of the game. One of the Tigers’ safeties gave away an awful penalty to the Trojans, which awarded them another down, which running back Woody Marks made the best of by scoring a 13-yard rushing touchdown.

From winning the game at one point to losing it with just 0:08 seconds left on the clock. Brian Kelly lost it in the press conference for the first time.
It's the first time since I've been here that I'm angry at my football team. They were selfish and led to scores. They fall back on me.Brian Kelly said while smacking the table with his fist
There was reason to be angry because it was his third consecutive opening-day loss as LSU head coach. The Tigers last won on week 1 back in 2019.
I'm so angry about it that I've got to do something about it. I'm not doing a good enough job as a coach. I've got to coach them better because it's unacceptable for us not to have found a way to win this football game. It's ridiculous. It's crazy.Brian Kelly added
"I'm not doing a good enough job as a coach … it's unacceptable for us not to have found a way to win this football game."

Brian Kelly and LSU can bounce back
Losing the first game of the season may be a bummer, but it’s not the be-all and end-all. The Tigers have a great chance of going on winning in the next few games.
They welcome the Nicholls State Colonels from the Southland conference on week 2, followed by the South Carolina Gamecocks from the SEC, then the UCLA Bruins and SBC West’s South Alabama Jaguars. All of these games are more than winnable for the Tigers. Only UCLA might make things slightly difficult.
However, after this, they have a stretch of four games against top college programs. In week 6, LSU will welcome the #6 best in the nation, the Ole Miss Rebels, then the Arkansas Razorbacks, ranked #20th Texas A&M Aggies, and #5th Alabama Crimson Tide in November.
They will still have to play teams like the Florida Gators and Oklahoma Sooners before the season ends. So, Brian Kelly should start racking up some points while he can.
