It was reported that her sister, Brie Bella advised her to file for divorce.
According to a source who spoke with Entertainment Tonight, Brie Bella encouraged Nikki Bella to proceed with the divorce due to her deep concern for both her sister and her nephew. She believed there was no place for violence in the world and had been deeply worried about their well-being. Following the incident, the former Women’s Champion has been residing in her family home with Matteo, while Artem Chigvintsev has been staying at a friend’s house.

The couple first met on the set of Dancing with the Stars in 2017, but they did not start dating until after her final breakup with John Cena in 2018. They got engaged in 2020 and were married two years later in Paris.
