Raw this week closed out with Adam Pearce and Triple H overseeing the contract signing for Brock Lesnar‘s match with Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42. Pearce was cut off early by Paul Heyman just as the Raw GM dubbed Lesnar vs. Femi as a true clash of heavyweight titans. ‘The Wiseman’ was slapped with loud Oba chants from the Houston crowd on Raw.

After dismissing the fans for their most irrelevant opinion, Heyman brought out Lesnar, and they made their way to the ring. Pearce didn’t take long to summon ‘The Ruler’, whose entrance keeps receiving minor tweaks almost every other week, but it was as effective as WWE would’ve liked.

Femi did his usual strut down that aisle and even mocked Lesnar for a split second before proceeding to step through those ropes. ‘The Beast’ had other plans. He went right after the Nigerian wrestler and jumped on him only to be caught and getting planted spine first into the LED ring post. Pearce had called upon a plethora of security guards by then to contain these behemoths who continued brawling.

The security personnel did manage to separate Femi and Lesnar, but they both broke free one time each. The former UFC ace, held back by the security, hurled an office chair at Oba Femi that didn’t quite do the desired damage, and ‘The Ruler’ threw one right back at Brock Lesnar. The red-faced Lesnar and an equally riled-up Femi were held back in their corners with the crowd clamoring for them to fight.

Just then, the show abruptly went off air. The fans were left underwhelmed by the Raw feed on Netflix cutting off when there needed to be an overrun by a few minutes. WWE later released some exclusive off-air footage from Raw that saw Femi and Lesnar still going at it.

While the fans wanted to see more out of them, there’s still one week to accomplish it. Also, with brawl ensuing right away, no contract could be signed. WWE could book another contract signing for next week’s Raw in Sacramento and get in the remaining shenanigans it’d have been aiming for before WrestleMania.

Seth Rollins gets into a brawl with Gunther ahead of their WrestleMania clash

Just seven days removed from getting ambushed by a returning Gunther, Seth Rollins couldn’t quite figure out why he did that given they don’t have much shared history together. After having thought through it, Rollins believed that ‘The Ring General’ might’ve entered into a business relationship with Paul Heyman.

‘The Visionary’ declared his goals of winning back the world title that he never lost and ending the Vision for good. Rollins later said in his promo that Gunther could be the shield for Heyman and be cordial with him for all that he wanted, but the fact that it happened at Rollins’ expense has made this extremely personal with ‘The Architect’.

As Rollins said it, Gunther sneaked in from behind and tried locking Rollins in the sleeper hold, but the 6-time world champion reversed it this time around. After getting off the clutches of Rollins, the erstwhile Walter evaded a curb stomp but got kicked to the ringside area. ‘The Career Killer’ intercepted a suicide dive from Rollins and sent him over the commentary desk.

The former Vision leader jumped on to Gunther and started hammering down on him before Adam Pearce and security guards stepped in to separate them. ‘The Ring General’ hit a cheap shot on Rollins by landing a boot on his face while he was held back by security. Pearce was yelling at the ‘Career Killer’ to chuck it, with his match against Rollins at WrestleMania just days away.

The Vienna-born wrestler then confronted Heyman backstage. ‘The Oracle’ had no idea why the Austrian saved him from getting beaten up by Rollins last week on Raw. The 60-year-old consequently bestowed a huge thanks on Gunther. The latter affirmed that his beef with Rollins was indeed personal but not for the reasons he might be thinking of.

As for Heyman, Gunther said that he owed him much more than just a thank you. The fans couldn’t help but speculate that this would lead to ‘The Career Killer’ asking ‘The Wiseman’ down the road to make his client Brock Lesnar put his career on the line against Gunther.
