It took two long years, but Brock Lesnar is finally back in WWE. ‘The Beast’ emerged to confront an emotional John Cena, who’d just lost his Undisputed WWE title to Cody Rhodes in his last-ever SummerSlam as an active wrestler. ‘The Cenation Leader’ received a huge round of applause from the New Jersey fans at MetLife Stadium, and he couldn’t have been more gracious in response.
Cena’s expressions changed when Lesnar’s music made those in attendance go bonkers. The 48-year-old was sporting a cowboy hat and made his entrance to the ring with a mission in mind. After surveying the scene for a while, Lesnar lifted Cena up on his shoulders and planted the Hollywood mogul with an F-5. It has to be kept in mind that ‘The Beast Incarnate’ is still named as a defendant in Janel Grant’s lawsuit.

Ms. Grant had accused Vince McMahon of using her as a pawn to negotiate a brand-new WWE deal for Lesnar back in 2021. The odious text messages from McMahon are contained in the following post by Brandon Thurston of WrestleNomics, let alone a direct access to the detailed complaint filed by the ex-WWE employee seeking justice.
Here's what Janel Grant's lawsuit against WWE and Vince McMahon alleges about Brock Lesnar.

It was reported in previous months that there were no indications of WWE bringing Lesnar back. Even though the former 10-time world champion has yet to be proven guilty of the heinous charges levied against him, he’d still have needed a nod from WWE’s legal department to do business with the company. As of press time, there’s no update on that front.
Did WWE scrap the SummerSlam press conference to avoid negative press on Brock Lesnar’s return?
WWE snapped its streak of post-show press conferences by not conducting them on either night of SummerSlam. It brought a wave of disappointment for everyone, including the fans and media personnel, in particular. But why did it actually happen? It’s clear as daylight that the company scrapping the pressers just in time for Brock Lesnar’s homecoming isn’t, by any stretch, a coincidence.

There’s already a slew of comments flooding social media underscoring WWE’s reluctance to face the media over calling Lesnar back. It’s because the latter is one of the defendants in the ongoing suit of physical abuse and s*x trafficking brought forth by Janel Grant. While the live reaction to The Conqueror’s SummerSlam return was pandemonium, it’s the polar opposite on the internet.
WWE canceling the press conference was all about strategy. They don’t want to talk about Brock Lesnar and the lawsuit. #SummerSlam2025

The majority is dumping on WWE for pulling the trigger on Lesnar, who hadn’t been around since losing to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2023. It could’ve very well been Lesnar’s final match, with the way there appeared to be a stalemate between him and WWE in the past two years. However, since he wiped out John Cena in some fashion at SummerSlam, they’re definitely on a collision course now.
Why did Triple H say about Brock Lesnar’s SummerSlam shocker?
As discussed above, the WWE press conferences do seem like a thing of the past, as of this past weekend. However, the company has replaced them with a panel-wide analysis of the show, which was on display after both nights of action at SummerSlam.

WWE CCO Triple H joined the discussion and was asked to share his thoughts on Brock Lesnar‘s return. ‘The Game’ said that the roof would’ve been blown off had there been one last night. He added that the former UFC Heavyweight Champion’s return will completely change the dynamics of WWE in the most unpredictable of ways.
My reaction was exactly what I thought it was gonna be, which was, if there had been a roof on this place, it wouldn’t be here anymore. The dynamic in the room in WWE changes when The Beast is here. Seeing Brock Lesnar come back, anything that you thought was happening sort of all goes out the window because the factor of Brock now just changes that dynamic so incredibly. It makes it unpredictable.

Triple H implies that John Cena wanted to work Brock Lesnar on his retirement tour:

“This is John Cena’s wishlist. John Cena’s… it’s him writing the last chapter of his book, and I think people saw a conversation with us where he said we’d have to screw it up pretty badly to… pic.twitter.com/f5haprAHd5
‘The Cerebral Assassin’ also confirmed that working with ‘The Beast’ was on John Cena‘s wish list on this retirement tour. The Peacemaker actor is inching closer to his last ten dates with WWE. He’s advertised for Clash in Paris later this month, and that’s where he could stand across from Lesnar.
