Brock Lesnar has been absent from WWE since SummerSlam 2023. WWE initially expected him to return at the 2024 Royal Rumble. However, after the lawsuit linked his name to Janel Grant‘s s*x trafficking case against Vince McMahon, WWE scrapped any plans for his comeback. Now that the lawsuit officially mentions his name, it adds another layer to his controversy.
The latest amended complaint officially mentions Lesnar’s name. The complaint explicitly states that McMahon sent s*xually explicit photographs and videos of Grant to the former WWE Champion. Additionally, the lawsuit alleges that McMahon attempted to traffic Grant as a means to persuade Lesnar to sign a new WWE contract.
Previously, Lesnar was only referred to as a popular star of UFC and WWE. However, the lawsuit now explicitly mentions his name, confirming his direct involvement. This major development comes nearly a year after the lawsuit was filed. It further diminishes the chances of the former WWE Champion returning to the company.

Moreover, reports from a few months ago suggested that WWE had not discussed any creative plans for The Beast for quite some time. This indicates they may have anticipated the inevitability of Lesnar’s name being mentioned. It remains to be seen how this situation unfolds. However, it is undoubtedly heartbreaking news for Lesnar’s fans worldwide, who had been eagerly anticipating his return.
How will Janel Grant’s lawsuit officially naming Brock Lesnar change his WWE trajectory?
Until now, Brock Lesnar had not been explicitly named in Janel Grant’s lawsuit. As a result, WWE had not hesitated to mention him in promos and video packages. However, since the amended complaint now officially includes his name, similar to Vince McMahon, WWE may treat him the same way as McMahon going forward.
It is highly likely that WWE might erase Lesnar from their history, similar to what they did with McMahon from last year onwards. Additionally, it was revealed that although WWE and The Beast were in talks, they have not finalized his return. However, now it is highly possible that the company might avoid anything related to the former WWE Champion for the foreseeable future.
This will significantly tarnish the 47-year-old’s legacy in the Stamford-based promotion. Additionally, WWE may choose to alter or downplay records set by The Beast following his name’s mention in the lawsuit. With the Royal Rumble just around the corner, it will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds.
