Brock Lesnar Hints at Current WWE Run Not Lasting Long
Brock Lesnar has stated that his current WWE stint would not last long. There are rumors of him retiring at this year's SummerSlam in his adopted home state of Minnesota.

- Brock Lesnar indicates his current WWE run is temporary, primarily motivated by family needs.
- He expresses gratitude for his opportunities in wrestling, acknowledging a change in the backstage environment.
- Rumors suggest Lesnar's final match may occur at this year's SummerSlam in Minnesota.
Brock Lesnar recently partook in a rare podcast appearance on Spittin’ Chiclets. ‘The Beast’ dropped a bombshell on the longevity of his ongoing WWE run by letting everyone know that he’s back in the company for a short time. He mentioned his kids as the reason for his comeback to wrestling so that he could feed them. “You guys should see my grocery bill,” quipped Lesnar.
The 10-time world champion affirmed that he’s grateful for the current stint with WWE in addition to every other opportunity he’s had in his life. Lesnar unsurprisingly didn’t touch on his alleged involvement in the Janel Grant lawsuit. While he’s not listed as a defendant, the 48-year-old was officially identified in the amended version of Grant’s complaint that she filed in February 2025.
I went back to work so I could feed my kids. You guys should see my grocery bill. So yeah…no, I left the company years ago. And I’m grateful that I’m back for a short time here. I’m really grateful for all the opportunities that I’ve had in my life.

WWE decided against using Lesnar on its programming for two years after his name got dragged as the “star wrestler” tied to the heinous allegations brought forth by Ms. Grant against former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and other top officials in January 2024. It didn’t seem like Lesnar would be back in a wrestling ring ever again, but the unthinkable happened at last year’s SummerSlam.
Brock Lesnar says he’s back in WWE ‘for a short time’:

‘The One in 21-1’ emerged on WWE television for the first time in over 700 days to take out John Cena after he had just lost the Undisputed WWE title to Cody Rhodes. Lesnar would then have his first match in WWE since SummerSlam 2023 at Wrestlepalooza, where he trounced the 17-time world champion in a beating eerily reminiscent of their singles encounter at SummerSlam 2014.
‘The Beast Incarnate’ is now set for his next singles bout since that thumping of Cena. His opponent? Oba Femi. ‘The Ruler’ has been a thorn in Lesnar’s side for the past couple of weeks. Femi emerged on Raw to drop Lesnar with a Fall from Grace and then put his foot on Lesnar’s chest to point at the WrestleMania 42 sign.

It was the Nigerian wrestler’s way of accepting the open challenge that was laid out by Paul Heyman on his client’s behalf. This week on Raw, Femi once again humiliated the former UFC Heavyweight Champion by sending him over the top rope to the floor. It’d be interesting to see how Lesnar will avenge the ignominy inflicted on him by someone who’s basically a rookie on the main roster at this point.
Brock Lesnar highlights the change in backstage WWE environment
It’s been over half a year since Brock Lesnar came back to WWE last summer. While he isn’t around every other week, the veteran wrestler has managed to get a hold of the current backstage environment in the company with his previous boss Vince McMahon no longer there.
Speaking in the aforementioned podcast, ‘The Beast’ put emphasis on his amateur wrestling background, which saw him win the 2000 NCAA Division I Heavyweight title as a senior at the University of Minnesota.

By the time he was done with his collegiate career, Lesnar had conjured up a 106-5 win/loss record, which was mighty impressive. Due to those credentials against his name, he received way more limelight after transitioning to a WWE wrestler. Lesnar revealed that the old-timers at the time tested him enough, which, in pro wrestling jargon, has been an unsaid way of paying one’s dues in the business.
Brock Lesnar calls the current backstage environment in WWE softer than it used to be:

“I was a shooter, an amateur guy. I had a lot of credentials to my name. Of course I got tested along the way by the old timers and the guys. You have to pay your dues. Back then, you paid… pic.twitter.com/KuDFDsBnYe
That was how someone could get the respect of his peers and the so-called veterans. But that was a long time ago. Things aren’t the same anymore, with Brock Lesnar pointing out that they have gotten a lot softer and those kangaroo courts are obsolete. Lesnar acknowledged that he’s the old vet of the locker room now.
Pretty much like Lesnar, many other old-timers have said on record that the backstage ambience in WWE these days feels quite relaxed, which has been a major plus point of the Triple H regime. Many within the company aren’t walking on eggshells like they used to, especially during the later stages of the Vince McMahon era.
Speaking of how much time Brock Lesnar has left in WWE, that’s not a huge window. In fact, there are already rumors swirling around that this year’s SummerSlam in Minnesota is where he will have his last match. It’s slated to emanate from the US Bank Stadium. Considering the speculation true, he’s expected to feud with Gunther and add to the latter’s rich haul of the WWE legends he has retired.
