Brock Lesnar was unhappy with his WWE paycheck
At Wrestlemania 20, Brock Lesnar was involved in a match against Goldberg. The match is considered to be one of the worst matches to have been part of a Wrestlemania card. Incidentally, both the wrestlers left WWE after their match at Wrestlemania.
The problem with Lesnar was not restricted to the ring. It was recently revealed that Lesnar was having some backstage issues with WWE. He had made it clear that he was upset about his compensation. In fact, this was the primary reason which led to the Beast Incarnate’s departure from the company.
On the latest episode of Grilling JR, Jim Ross and Conrad Thompson were discussing the Wrestlemania 20 event. Ross revealed that Lesnar and Goldberg were paid $250,000 for the match. But Lesnar felt that he was getting screwed over by WWE.
“I said, ‘What are you basing this on? Did you do a forensic study on the finances of this event, or did one of your buddies tell you that you got screwed on your payoff? What are you basing this on? You’ve got to give me something here.’ You didn’t like it? And he said, ‘I just think you guys screwed me. I said, ‘well, we didn’t screw you, and I’m sorry you feel that way.’ And he hung up on me.”
Ross’ reaction after Lesnar hung up on him

During the WM 20, Jim Ross was WWE’s head of talent relations. His position forced him to deal with a furious Brock Lesnar. Although he tried to clarify that WWE had remunerated him fairly, Lesnar disagreed.
All Jim Ross wanted was a valid argument and why Lesnar felt that the company was screwing him over. Brock ultimately left the company at that point to explore other career prospects. He returned in 2012, and has established himself as one of the top guys in WWE. Lesnar is currently not under a contract with WWE, but there are rumors that he might be back for Wrestlemania 37.
