The Denver Broncos are bringing back old traditions, starting with their uniform, which fans haven’t seen since 1997. It appears the team will be decked in a new primary uniform, along with an alternate helmet and throwback kit.
The franchise announced the news on Monday morning, sharing a two-minute video unveiling the new set of uniforms. They have released three sets of jerseys: the home Sunset Orange top, Midnight Navy alternate jersey, and Summit White road shirt. Each of them can be paired with both white and navy pants.
With these combinations, the Broncos have presented an entire line of collections, named “Mile High Collection,” which they said is inspired by the franchise’s old traditions and the Colorado landscape. The sleeves of the jerseys have mountain peaks imprinted with the number 5,280 on the pants, which signifies Denver’s elevation is above sea level.
The shades of new navy and white have also been incorporated into their helmet to bring back the old throwback kit from 1997, the year the Broncos made their first Super Bowl appearance. The helmet will feature the franchise’s iconic ‘D’ logo with a horse in the center.
This has been a thoughtful, collaborative journey that's involved us listening to voices throughout all of Broncos Country to design the Mile High Collection, our modern and inspirational new uniforms for the Denver Broncos.Said Broncos president Damani Leech in the official news release about the new uniforms.
Fan reaction to the Broncos’ new uniforms inspired by the 80s
Even though the franchise claimed to have conducted a survey of more than 10,000 fans for their feedback on the team’s new uniform, fans don’t seem quite happy about it. Contrary to what the Broncos expected, fans didn’t hold back from criticizing their new uniform collection line on social media.

The Denver Broncos claimed the throwback outfits are much better than the new ones and urged the franchise to go back to the old uniforms from the 80s permanently.
It appears fans aren’t in sync with the Broncos’ bold decision with their uniforms, and it will be on their minds throughout the 2024 season if the Broncos go ahead with those new uniforms.
