Bronny James against Toronto Raptors

Bronny James made history this year by joining his father, LeBron James, to become the first active father-son duo in the league. His involvement with the Lakers franchise has been the talk of town throughout the season. As the 20-year-old rookie continues to develop, fans have not been too kind to the 55th pick in the NBA draft.

Bronny James had just been riding the high of scoring his first points in the NBA a few days ago. However, James Jr. was relegated to the bench once again as the Lakers fought off the Raptors in a tight fourth-quarter duel. With the Lakers up by 8 points and just 7 seconds left in the game, HC JJ Redick subbed in Bronny James to finish the formalities of the match.

Bronny James did not get to do much as he stepped onto the floor for just a fleeting glimpse. However, the junior James has become quite the crowd favorite across every arena he steps into. As the Raptors crowd rained down boos on their home team’s loss, they suddenly came back to life after seeing the rookie James enter the game.

Fans have waited with bated breath to see if the rookie can find minutes as a consistent force in the league. However, that’s not all that fans feel about Bronny James.

Fans troll Bronny James after 7-second stint vs. Raptors

NBA fans are ruthless as can be when it comes to online trolling. Bronny James was brought in by JJ Redick just to close out a game that was already sealed. This is a tradition that has been in the NBA for ages, with teams putting in bench players to finish a game that has already been decided.

However, NBA fans took to the internet to troll James Jr. for checking into the game as a formality. Here are some of the reactions:

Bronny James, of course, did not even get the opportunity to get the ball. Many have criticized the Lakers for wasting a pick on James Jr. So far, Redick and the Lakers have only used Bronny in spurts, especially at the end of blowout games. But to his credit, the rookie has looked solid, albeit with some scoring woes. Perhaps some confidence-building in the G-League will do Bronny some good.
