“Daddy do you need water?” Bronny James BRUTALLY mocked for potential role with Lakers by Gilbert Arenas
Gilbert Arenas thinks Bronny will be a water-boy in the NBA 'anyway'.
Bronny James will have to live up to his father's standards
Ever since the Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny James with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, there has been much curiosity about how he can live up to his father LeBron James‘s standards and impress the Lakeshow. Gilbert Arenas hilariously explained in the most recent episode of Gil’s Arena what the 19-year-old is anticipated to contribute to the team in a certain way in the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season.
Arenas claimed on the show that James Jr.’s role in the Lakers for the new season would be to support his father, LeBron James, from the sidelines, trolling him regarding his game-time in the upcoming season. Not only that, Arenas also claimed that James Jr would have to work as a water-boy rather than hoping to start for the Lakers after his recent NBA Summer League performances with the Lakers.
Go Daddy Go! … Okay, what you need? Some towels, here is some water. Sit there, talk to the coach. As a second-round pick, what do you expect? Him to learn, understand, be cheerful, but he is going to be that anyway.Gilbert Arenas said
Well, Arenas isn’t exactly revealing something shocking here. After all, it’s widely assumed that Bronny will face a tough time earning substantial game-time in coach JJ Redick‘s rotation during the upcoming campaign. It remains to be seen now how the Lakers handle James Jr’s minutes in the upcoming NBA season.
Bronny James not happy with his recent performances in the Summer League
The Summer League has been up and running in the NBA for rookies and new additions to showcase their talents and skills. However, the league has not yet worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers’ new addition, Bronny James. Notably James Jr has been vocal about his recent performances in the ongoing league, claiming that he is in a “slump” and hopes to return in form soon.
I just feel like I'm in a little slump right now.Bronny James told reporters after his side’s loss to the Houston Rockets
In the three games James Jr played, he has recorded six of 26 from the field and zero of 12 from three-point range. He only managed to score 15 points, and the Lakers have lost all three games he appeared in.
Ever since he began playing at the amateur level, James’ shooting has been a weakness. He shot 36.6% from the field and 26.1% from three in his 25 games at USC. Additionally, as a rookie, James Jr. will take time to develop under one of the best franchise’s coaches and their top-notch system.
