“Who did he take the opportunity from?” Bronny James’ critics SLAMMED by comedian Chico Bean
Bronny James' performances in the NBA Summer League had added to the criticism.
Chico Bean slams critics suggesting Los Angeles Lakers taking their superstar LeBron James' son Bronny James denied chance to other players
Bronny James getting drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers has already been the talk of the NBA world for the past couple of months. Many critics consider his entry into the best basketball league in the world a result of his father LeBron James‘ presence on the team. James Jr.’s performances in the Summer League so far have gone on to heighten the criticism. With most calling it unfair, comedian Chico Bean had a different take on it.
The 37-year-old comedian was a guest on The OGs Show when he was asked about the entire situation surrounding the Lakers rookie. He gave his opinion on the criticism by saying:
I don't care how bad you think Bronny is. The (kid) is still good enough to be playing in the NBA. I've been seeing all of that, 'he ain't good enough'. No, n**** you're not good enough. You like, 'he's taken an opportunity from a player who deserved it'. Who? Who did he take the opportunity from? Your cousin? Stop it man.Chico Bean on The OGs Show
Essentially shutting down those who are crying foul over this issue. Bean feels people should take a step back. The comedian was quick to suggest that most of the people who are criticizing would have liked it if they or their relatives were in Bronny James’ position. Altogether this adds to the notion that nepotism is already rampant everywhere.
Therefore, Chico Bean feels it was not wrong of arguably one of the greatest players to ever play the game to create a path for his son to follow. LeBron James could do that as Bean feels he has been the model NBA player for more than 2 decades.

The comedian explained how LeBron James’ legacy enables Bronny James to be in this position. Chico Bean added after talking about James Jr.;
He’s done nothing but be upstanding and amazing. You get to a point where this man has made it to where he’s created a lane for his children to be able to follow in his footsteps based on his work.

Bean made it clear that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar has earned the right. Everyone should celebrate him.
Therefore, he created a situation where his children could succeed is what every parent would want. He has earned that by being the model citizen as the face of the NBA for more than 2 decades. Every basketball player aspires to have a career like him.
So, it is too soon to decide if Bronny James has not earned his right to play in the NBA. He has a lot to learn and develop before he checks in for his first minutes on the court. A year or two down the line will be a proper litmus test to see if he has provided a return on the investment the Lakers have made.
