Bronny James shines in his first G-League road game, leading the South Bay Lakers against the Valley Suns.
Bronny James
The Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny James as the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. However, he struggled to make an impact in the NBA, leading to his assignment to the G-League’s South Bay Lakers for further development.
Bronny James has faced heavy criticism from fans and NBA experts who doubted his abilities. However, on Thursday, while playing for the South Bay Lakers, he silenced critics by setting a career-high in points. In his first G-League road game, James, the eldest son of Lakers star LeBron James, scored 30 points on 13-of-23 shooting, despite South Bay’s 106-100 loss to the Valley Suns.

This season in the NBA, James Jr. has participated in seven games for the Lakers before moving to the G-League. As for his G-League matchup, the rookie went 13-for-23 from the field at the end of the contest. In addition, he had three rebounds, two assists, a steal, a block, and a 3-for-9 shooting percentage.
According to various sources, the Lakers had originally anticipated that James Jr. would only play at home for the South Bay Lakers. Hence, his journey to Arizona marks a change from their initial intentions.
On Friday night, the South Bay Lakers will play the Suns again at Mullett Arena.
Fans left ecstatic after witnessing Bronny James’ performance in G-League
After months of criticism from the NBA fanbase, Bronny James has finally stepped his game up in the G-League. James dropped his career-high performance against the Valley Suns on the road, scoring 30 points against them. Many took to various social media apps to put forward their views, praise, and support towards James Jr. Check out some of the reactions below:
