Draymond Green gives Dalton Knecht his stamp of approval as well

Before the NBA draft, Dalton Knecht was projected to be a top 6-10 pick, but he surprisingly fell to a lower pick. The reason for this was his age, 23, which made teams prefer younger players.

The Lakers were thrilled to get Dalton, with General Manager Rob Pelinka ecstatic about the pick. Veteran forward Draymond Green also praised Dalton, calling him a “decent athlete” who can shoot, a skill that new coach JJ Redick values.

I think JJ is going to run him off screens because that’s who JJ was. So JJ’s going to be looking for that. If he can come off screens, which he showed some at Tennessee, firing and turning the corner and getting downhill, I think that’s very beneficial.

Furthermore, Dalton’s experience at Tennessee, where he was SEC player of the year, prepared him for Redick’s coaching style. With Redick’s guidance, Dalton is expected to thrive, and the Lakers are excited about his potential.
