Bronny James reveals words of encouragement from Stephen Curry
With the NBA preseason officially over, Bronny James shared a heartening conversation he had with Stephen Curry following his impressive 17-point performance against the Golden State Warriors on Friday. Curry, who was sidelined with a finger injury, was seen talking to Bronny at the end of the game.
Bronny James got his first start of the preseason and faced the Warriors’ rotation for most of his 35 minutes, where he shot 7/17 and added four rebounds and three steals. This outing was a significant improvement from his previous preseason games.
Mainly just him telling me to play my game and be myself. Also just giving some pointers on things to do in certain situations, but nothing too crazy.

Bronny’s journey to the NBA has been challenging, as he had to recover from a cardiac arrest in August that delayed his college debut and limited his time at USC. He has also acknowledged that he is still not 100% healthy, which may be the reason he has suffered for form in his initial months as a Laker.
However, the conversation with Stephen Curry has served as a confidence booster for Bronny, as he aims to carry this momentum into the season. While it’s not certain where he will be at, there’s a greater chance he’d be with the Lakers G League affiliate team.
Bronny James shines in breakout performance against Warriors
While he has suffered for form, Bronny James delivered his best outing yet, in the 132-74 loss to the Golden State Warriors. And with coach JJ Redick resting the normal rotation, James Jr. started and impressed in 35 minutes.
It gave me a chance to be myself. I feel like that’s where I’m the most comfortable, just going out there and playing my game. It was just a great feeling to go out there and not think as much as I do and just play.

James’ performance was a welcome turnaround after he struggled in the first five preseason games, where he scored no more than four points and shot just 20% from the field. His highlights during the game included a lob dunk on a fast break and his first preseason three-pointer.
Fans were given a glimpse of his potential, and it suggested he has what it takes to succeed. The Lakers open their regular season against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday.
