The Los Angeles Lakers have experienced a good start to their 2024-25 NBA season, winning three out of the four games played. However, their winning streak ended in their most recent game against the Phoenix Suns. Now they play the Cleveland Cavaliers up next on Wednesday, October 30th. Lakers star LeBron James will be facing his former side, but this time with his son Bronny James beside him.

In the Lakers’ season-opening victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, Bronny and LeBron James already created NBA history by becoming the first father-son duo to play together in a professional game.

But Bronny has been out of the first-team squad ever since, missing three games in a row. However, as per reports, he is expected to play a role against his father’s former side.

The South Bay Lakers tip off their season Nov. 9, and sources confirm reports that Bronny will be there for that and spend the bulk of this season focusing on growing his game. Sources have indicated the likelihood is pretty high that he’ll play alongside his father in Cleveland.

Bronny James will be joining the South Bay Lakers in the G-League to further develop his game. Bronny has only played three minutes in the NBA thus far, taking one rebound and missing two field shots, including one from three-point range, in the season opener against the Timberwolves. He still has a lot to learn, and many believe his move to the G-League will be profitable for him.

NBA legend comes in support for Bronny James

While Bronny James was being attacked by the critics, NBA legend Magic Johnson came in support of the youngster. The former Los Angeles Lakers great said he was confident the squad could help the rookie grow. He continued by referencing instances of young athletes who had achieved success, such as Austin Reaves and Alex Caruso.

Basketball fans, Bronny James is in good hands with the Lakers, who are great with developing talent. Two names that I can name recently that I’ve seen firsthand are Alex Caruso and Austin Reaves, who both are starters in the league today. Bronny will be next.

In 2020, Caruso, who was an undrafted free agent in 2016, won a championship with the Lakers. He has joined the Oklahoma City Thunder this season after developing into a formidable defender with the Chicago Bulls. Reaves, who was also not selected in the draft, joined the Lakers in 2021, and has since established himself as a starter.
