Those who have kept track of LeBron James‘ off-season activity, particularly this season, would have come across his interest in playing golf. ‘King James’ has found peace on the course. Throughout the summer, LeBron has been seen teeing off in his hometown of Akron, Ohio — not just playing, but enjoying the game.

Sharing laughs with close friends, capturing moments of precision and patience on camera, it’s a different kind of grind before the season begins. In a recent video posted by the Lakers superstar, James Sr. can be found taking his son and teammate, Bronny James, along with him to play golf.

For LeBron, it’s more than a game — it’s mentorship, it’s legacy, it’s fatherhood in its most intentional form. In addition, James Sr. also took to his Instagram to highlight this moment as he wrote, “Nothing like it man. Hanging out!”

The former MVP’s post follows his and Bronny’s absence from a Lakers press conference on Saturday that announced Luka Doncic‘s three-year, $165 million contract deal. The majority of their Lakers teammates were present at the ceremony. NBA insider Marc Stein said that during a FaceTime call on Saturday morning, James complimented Doncic on his deal.

Nevertheless, much has been made about James’ future regarding his stay in Los Angeles with the Lakers in the long term. For now, he is likely to remain with the Lakers for the upcoming 2025-2026 season, after announcing his plans to play despite a lot of retirement rumors hovering around him.

Interestingly, the four-time champion was also a subject of immense trade rumors linking him with different NBA teams throughout the last few weeks. But as per his agent Rich Paul‘s recent statements, it seems as if the Lakers star will stay in LA for another year before making any decision regarding his future in the NBA.

NBA star Tyrese Maxey had nothing but praise for LeBron James after working out together

The Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey is one of the few lucky ones who has had the chance to share workouts with Lebron James since the age of 19. If one hasn’t come across the Deep 3 podcast, especially Maxey’s appearance on it, the 76ers star revealed the inspirational aspect of ‘King James.’ The guard revealed that he found what James was doing at the age of 40 in terms of his dunking.

In addition, the star also raved about James’ mentality even at this particular age. The 76ers player recalled a particular incident where his trainer, Chris Johnson, would make players make three dunks after practice. Regarding this, Maxey had an interesting story that involved James in the process.

I see Bron, and he like, ‘Throw it up, throw it up!’ I’m like, ‘Nah man, you don’t got it no more.’ Nah, he want, he still want to rock it back, and I’m like, ‘Man, you crazy.’

Tyrese Maxey said on the Deep 3 podcast

Although James’ dedication to his dunk is impressive, it has been the subject of several jokes during the last season. When James made fun of some of Austin Reaves‘ lobs and implied that he wasn’t as young as he once was, Reaves hilariously became a target.

Bronny James made an interesting case about his father, LeBron James’ longevity

Many players have come and gone and left their mark in the NBA over the years. But one that will always stand out when it comes to being consistent and relentless for over 20 long years is the NBA and Los Angeles Lakers star, LeBron James. He is the perfect example of the word longevity. James has played for 22 years in the NBA and is now entering his 23rd year with the Lakers in the league.

So much so that he also created history in the league, becoming the first ever father-son duo playing alongside his son Bronny James with the Lakers this past 2024-25 NBA season. Now his son, Bronny, had an intriguing take on James‘ secret for his longevity.

I think that’s a big part of why his longevity is just so crazy, and he’s able to withstand so much for 20+ years. I see a lot of guys that don’t want to get in an ice bath after practice or don’t want to get treatment.

Bronny James told the media

According to James, he spends almost $1 million annually on his body by itself, and it appears that the money is well spent. He may still be in the best physical condition of anyone in the league at the age of forty years and above. Fans believe Bronny will undoubtedly stick to this throughout his career as he has personally witnessed the benefits of maintaining your physical health for an NBA career.
