On Tuesday, Netflix dropped a new trailer for Adam Sandler‘s upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 movie. The fan-favorite golf movie’s sequel is set to be released on July 25 this year. Following the release of the trailer, Brooks Koepka took an indirect swipe at the PGA Tour.
The upcoming movie will see Sandler reprise his role as Happy Gilmore and make a return to the golf scene after not swinging a golf club in years. In the trailer, Gilmore was seen being a little intimidated at first by watching the likes of Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau.
With Gilmore set to return to the Tour, 5-time major champion Brooks Koepka dropped a hilarious reaction while taking a subtle dig at the PGA Tour. In a 9-word message on X, the LIV Golfer claimed that the tour finally had some “real golfers“.

This comment from Koepka comes at a time when the sport of golf is divided. He was one of the top names of the PGA Tour who left them to play on LIV Golf. Since then, the tour has lacked some star power.
This also comes after speculations erupted about Koepka’s own future. Recently, former Masters champion Fred Couples revealed that the Smash GC captain wanted to return to the tour and leave LIV Golf.
Brooks Koepka gave an interesting response to rumors of LIV Golf exit
Ahead of the LIV Golf Singapore event, Brooks Koepka was asked about the comments from Fred Couples and his future with the breakaway tour. The American golfer then gave an interesting response which left some fans more puzzled.

According to reports, Koepka signed with LIV Golf in a deal which was worth more than $100 million. While fans had previously slammed him for his move, the golfer admitted that he joined the Public Investment Fund (PIF) backed tour for the money.
Speaking in the press conference before the event, Koepka claimed that he had a contract to fulfill. He later claimed that he was unsure of what his future had in store for him and that he would see what happens.
Iโve got a contract obligation out here to fulfill, and then weโll see what happens.

His response is a bit different from his league rival Bryson DeChambeau’s. Before Koepka’s name came up, there had been reports that claimed that DeChambeau would return to the PGA Tour after the 2025 season. This was because LIV Golf had declined his $280 million contract extension.
The Crushers GC captain would debunk this report before the LIV Golf Hong Kong event. DeChambeau claimed that he was “very excited” about the future of LIV Golf.
Brooks Koepka blasted himself with a PGA Tour comment during LIV Golf Singapore
During the LIV Golf Singapore event, Brooks Koepka seemingly blasted himself with a PGA Tour comment. This came after he was unhappy with one of his shot in the second round.

In the second round, Koepka fired a 2-under 69 score. This saw him finish the day 4-under par as he hit 4 birdies and 2 bogeys on Saturday at the Sentosa Golf Club.
It was during this round, when he was caught on in a hot mic moment. After a mishit on the par-3 8th hole, Koepka claimed that he should go back to the Korn Ferry tour.
Oh, you should go back to the Korn Ferry.
Brooks Koepka said
After realizing that his shot had worked out well, he made a dramatic U-Turn regarding. Koepka was later heard saying that he wouldn’t go there just yet.

The Korn Ferry tour is the development tour of the PGA Tour. Golfers who have not broken into the PGA Tour and those who lost their status to play on the PGA Tour play on this tour.
Koepka was seemingly so frustrated with his swing that he claimed that he should be back on the Korn Ferry Tour. In the final round, he posted a score of 6-under and finished 5 shots behind winner Joaquin Niemann with a total score of 12-under for the tournament.
