It got awkward fast on Thursday’s installment of “Watch What Happens Live” when host Andy Cohen caught Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Brooks Nader off guard by sliding her former fling into their conversation. It was evidently clear that Cohen was referencing Tom Brady.

Cohen frequently brings up past loves or relationships during his interviews, and it wasn’t different on the December 18th episode of his popular show. Nader lit up the stage alongside singer and Dancing With the Stars star Erika Jayne.

Cohen cheekily asked his guests, “Well, you both dated guys named Tom.” Nader’s body language screamed that she was put on the spot. Despite the suddenness of the question, the 28-year-old managed to whip up an answer like a pro, replying:

One is a newscaster, one is in jail.

It was a confusing and yet brilliant answer from Nader. First and foremost, Brady isn’t in jail, so who is she referring to? The answer is Jayne’s husband and famed attorney Tom Vincent Girardi. However, Giraldi, 86, and Jayne, 54, ended their marriage after Tom was sentenced to 87 months in federal prison. According to People, Giraldi embezzled tens of millions of dollars of settlement money that belonged to his client.

So, it leaves “newscaster,” and Cohen rightfully followed Nader’s remark with “Did you just call him a newscaster?” Well, technically, Nader isn’t wrong. She probably referred to Brady’s second job—a color analyst for FOX Sports, which involves covering NFL games alongside veteran announcer Jim Nantz.

This begs the question: Is Nader even aware that Brady is the greatest quarterback ever to play in the NFL? Then again, she probably wanted to defuse the romance rumors by keeping Brady’s name a secret.

Brady was first linked with Nader in July 2024. People reported that the pair were seen hanging out in several places:

They’ve been hooking up this summer, having rendezvous in different cities. It’s casual. She has a very active social calendar and likes to party, and Tom [Brady] is often with the kids and doesn’t like the nightlife scene.

However, nothing materialized. Currently, Brady is single after his marriage to Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen ended in 2022. The couple shares two kids, Benjamin Rein Brady and Vivian Lake Brady. The 48-year-old also has a son named Jack with his ex-girlfriend and actor Bridget Moynahan.

Brady congratulated Rivers for showing the courage to play after a five-year absence. Brady was the special guest on a recent segment of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal‘s The Big Podcast with Shaq. O’Neal asked Brady whether he’d be up for suiting up if an NFL team came calling.

I’d whoop a** right now. I could go out there and play. Give me a month. I mean, I could play with anybody. I took care of my body.

However, Brady’s well aware that he won’t be allowed to, as he’s a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. Fans can still enjoy listening to him on the FOX Sports gameday broadcast.
