Cleveland Browns guard Joel Bitonio shared an anecdote about quarterback Jameis Winston from the Browns pre-game routine ahead of the Sunday game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Browns are hanging by a thread in the playoff race with just three wins to their name this season.

Jameis Winston gained immense traction in the last few weeks with insane stats in the loss against the Denver Broncos. In the earlier week, Jameis Winston played a huge role in securing a massive win over the Steelers in a snowy rendezvous.

We were praying before the game and he started busting out the Monday Night Football theme song in his prayer. It’s not an act.

Despite the recent power packed offensive performances, they have a negative angle. In the Denver Broncos, he threw for 497 yards with 3 interceptions, which were costly for the Browns. The Broncos made 171 interception return yards, combining for 668 passing yards plus interception return yards. The 668 yards is the most by any QB in a single game in NFL history.

After the loss, Winston reflected on his performance, admitting to having thrown two pick-sixes, and humorously remarked, “I’m praying for the Lord to deliver me from pick-sixes.” The comment went viral, sparking both laughter and criticism, with some finding it humorous while others questioned his mental focus.

Will the fans see more of Jameis Winston?

As the Cleveland Browns stay on a course to tanking more than their chances to make playoffs, there are questions about the quarterback position in the coming year. As mentioned, Winston’s flashes of good game wouldn’t save his face alone. Kurt Warner might have some sympathy and belief left in Winston.

However, that can’t be said for the whole lot. Jonathan Peterlin of 92.3 The Fan believes the Browns may need to consider drafting a promising young quarterback. While it’s tough for some fans to accept, especially given the talent on the current roster, it might be necessary to rebuild at the quarterback position to maximize the team’s potential moving forward.

There’s only so many ways you can massively upgrade at the quarterback spot, and for the Browns, that one clear way, and I think they really only have one, is to draft and draft well.

Jonathan Peterlin said

Cleveland Browns are currently in position to draft eighth at the upcoming draft. Ryan Wilson of CBS projects the Browns will pick at 11th for Ashton Jeanty, the championship winning running back from Boise State. DL Mason Graham remains a favorite options among couple of other analysts. In case they need a strong quarterback, they will have to tank or trade draft picks.
