Football fans never expected the Cleveland Browns to be the team to top league headlines every single day. That is the pull Shedeur Sanders has, and it has led to some interesting narratives.
The Colorado QB essentially gave the best response possible to his doubters with his electric and sure-handed performance in their first preseason game.
Many felt he had done enough to secure a spot, but it felt as if the Browns were not fully convinced. Sanders missed the second preseason game and then had just one game to prove his worth.
He did not have a great night, and now some felt the franchise was about to release him. Then, news came out that the Browns had released almost the entire offensive line that blocked for him in the first preseason game.
This gave birth to new narratives that the franchise was intentionally setting up the 23-year-old to fail. Soon, another bit of news came out that gave his fans some relief.
The QB-needy Raiders wanted Kenny Pickett, and the Browns gladly obliged, essentially shrinking the QB room to three players. Now, Sanders’ fans were sure that his preseason performances were enough to confirm him as Joe Flacco’s first deputy.
Browns HC Kevin Stefanski named Dillon Gabriel as Cleveland’s No. 2 quarterback.

Instead, this was the news that hit their notifications section. The Cleveland Browns believe it is better to place Dillon Gabriel as their No. 2 option over Shedeur Sanders. They picked the former in the third round, which makes this a logical decision.
Fans flame Browns for dropping Shedeur Sanders to QB3
Logic is not something that fans, particularly those who are fixated on something, understand. They pointed out that statistics and eye tests prove that Shedeur Sanders was the better quarterback in the preseason.
Those fans believe the Cleveland Browns are intentionally pushing the Colorado star to the background, knowing it will be a long time before he can take to the field.
However, some fans believe both Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel will underperform, and the franchise will be forced to hand over the keys to their offense to their 5th-round pick. Check out examples of those reactions below.

Nuts! Sanders looked legit in his first preseason game. Poised and under control.

At what point does President Trump step in here and do what's right for Shedeur?!

All good, the Browns will continue to be the laughing stock of the NFL then.

Shedeur Sanders knows he has a tough road ahead and has to be extremely patient. Many have advised him and given examples of other great quarterbacks who waited for their chance. But he may get a chance sooner than expected.
Shedeur Sanders might not have to wait long before taking over
Tom Brady fought through and, along with an injury to Drew Bledsoe, and a bit of help from a rule, ultimately became the starter for the New England Patriots. Not that Shedeur Sanders is as of now anywhere in the GOAT’s league, but he can have a similar path.

For that, he first has to battle in practice to prove he is better than Dillon Gabriel. Only then can he move up the chain to become the second QB option behind Joe Flacco.
The latter is currently a journeyman quarterback and has some moments he would want to forget. The Cleveland Browns will face 6 playoff contenders to open their season.
In those first 6 games, Flacco and possibly Gabriel will face five standout defenses. If they struggle, expect Kevin Stefanski to hand it over to his third-string quarterback. After all, he and GM Andrew Berry are also working hard to keep their jobs.
Maybe it will be in time when they face the wildly inconsistent Miami Dolphins or the similarly rebuilding Patriots. That way, he could get the games to kick-start his fledgling NFL career.
