Things are not working out well for the Boston Bruins and their head coach Jim Montgomery. After a 4-3 overtime win against the Calgary Flames, the Boston-based outfit ended up losing 3-2 against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. This left their coach speechless.
In the faceoff between goaltenders Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark, it was the latter who came out as the winner as the Bruins suffered another defeat. This loss took their season record to 7-7-2 which mounted more pressure on coach Montgomery.
In the press conference after the game, the 55-year-old was visibly left stunned by the loss. In a brief talk, he informed the media that he had ‘no answer‘ for them at the moment. He simply stated that their lack of execution on the power play in the third period led to this defeat.

He seemed to have snapped at one of the questions from a reporter. When asked what was preventing the messaging from getting to the players, the Bruins coach claimed they just were not “good enough.”

He’s out of ideas. Entire team is underperforming plus Upper management didn’t address the issues properly.

This group can never figure it out regardless of who is coaching.

They didn’t like Cassidy, now they don’t like Monty.
Maybe the core is the issue
Need Sophia back. Vibes are all off in her absence.

Oh Monty. YOU need to find the answers and figure this out!! We have a team that doesn’t seem to want to play and a coach that can’t figure anything out. Great.

Ninety-one second is about as long as his meeting should be with management tomorrow morning. Had a good two-year run, but this team has quit on him.

When you tell the reporters that you basically don't have a clue on what to do, then you shouldn't be the coach.

The fact that he said we will look at it sports science wise is really scary. Wow. This team is hard to watch. No shots in the third period is inexcusable.

Montgomery joined the Bruins in 2022 after serving as the assistant coach of the St. Louis Blues for two years from 2020 to 2022. In his debut season, the team would go on to win the Presidents’ Trophy while winning 65 games. However, they suffered an early elimination from the Stanley Cup playoffs that season.
The Bruins, with a 7-7-2 record, now will head to St. Louis to face the Blues who themselves come into this match after a massive defeat against the Washington Capitals. Following that, they will face the Dallas Stars before heading back to Boston to take on the Blues again.
