Bruno Fernandes is undoubtedly one of the most polarizing footballers on the planet. The Portuguese midfielder’s ability on the ball and work rate makes him a player any team would pay good money to have.

However, his antics on the pitch and ‘diving’ prone nature makes him hated beyond measure. However, Man United came from behind to defeat Sheffield United and the the Red Devils’ captain had a huge role to play in it.

His monumental performance culminated in a 4-2 win for the Red Devils while Bruno himself scored a brace. His first goal came from the spot, when he fired his shot to the top left corner. Twenty minutes later, Bruno pulled a rabbit out of the hat, when he unleashed a screamer from outside the box, that too, with his weak foot!

Following his stellar display, fans were treated to yet another surprising statistic, as Bruno overtook the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Martin Odegaard and Bernardo Silva in terms of goal contributions.

The fact that Fernandes is having a ‘bad’ season according to his standards speaks volumes about his ability as a player.

Martin Odegaard and Kevin De Bruyne are undoubtedly some of the best midfielders in the English top flight. Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has had a relatively silent season compared to his previous campaigns in a United shirt.

However, a quick look at his statistics revealed that the No.8 has accumulated 26 G/A over the course of the season. A fan commented that Bruno certainly didn’t deserve any of the hate that he gets.

Many equated him to that of a machine and placed him in a class of his own. Some United fans sang praise for him, and said that he’s the best player to play for them in a long time. A supporter said that Bruno constantly proves his haters wrong and that he’s made a habit out of it.

Many were simply in awe of his second goal, which was a pile driver of a shot from afar. A supporter said that the League has no choice but to respect Bruno Fernandes.
