Bryan Danielson has faced a long and harsh journey on his way to championship gold in AEW. The 43-year-old has been a part of the company since 2021 and has often been involved in the main event picture. However, he never held a singles championship during this entire run. His wishes finally came true at AEW All In after beating Swerve Strickland.

Shortly after his victory, Danielson made a post on X saying that he had fulfilled his promise. In an earlier episode of Dynamite, the former WWE superstar said that if he was unable to keep his promise of winning the world title at All In, he would permanently retire from professional wrestling. Thankfully for his fans, this did not happen.

The last time Danielson held a World Championship was five years ago, in 2019, being the WWE Championship. The American Dragon had been hesitant about winning any championships in AEW. He seemed content with elevating other talent and having dream matches against the likes of Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada. Reportedly, Tony Khan heavily pushed to crown him as the AEW World Champion at Wembley.

Danielson began his quest for the AEW World Championship by participating in the Owen Hart Cup, whose winner was guaranteed a world title shot at All In. The former WWE superstar won the tournament and earned his rightful shot. Finally, in London, he landed multiple Busaiku Knees on Swerve Strickland before making him tap out to the LeBell Lock.

Bryan Danielson will soon make an announcement about his future after winning the AEW World Championship at All In

In 2023, Danielson made an important announcement regarding the future of his career. He had made a promise to his daughter that he would quit being a full-time wrestler when she turned seven years old, making 2024 his last full-time year in AEW. The American Dragon has achieved nearly everything in the world of professional wrestling, now including the AEW World Championship. It seems that his time to hang up the boots is awfully near.
