Bryan Danielson has battled a lot of health issues throughout his career. He was even forced to retire from professional wrestling in 2016 for a few years. Although it has been a treat to have watched him inside the square circle after his return, it is perhaps better for the 43-year-old to step away once again considering his latest health issues.

Speaking to Yahoo Sports, Danielson revealed that he suffered a major blow to his neck in April against Will Ospreay at AEW Dynasty. He got an MRI in May, and there were doubts if he would even be able to finish the Owen Hart tournament in July. Thankfully, things went well for the former WWE Champion, and he would go on to win the entire thing. This would lead to him finally winning the AEW World Championship at All In.

Halfway through his recent match against Kazuchika Okada, he started to lose strength in his legs. It was getting hard for him just to land his kicks. After the match, the trainers told him that the problem stemmed from his neck issues. Furthermore, he had started to get shooting pains up and down his arm, which didn’t allow him to sleep properly.

Regardless of these issues, Bryan Danielson loves professional wrestling with all his heart. When he’s in the ring in front of a crowd, the adrenaline rush doesn’t allow him to feel any pain. However, not having the same strength in his legs anymore is making it harder for him as the days go by.

The wrestling world is deeply worried for Bryan Danielson after finding out his physical condition

These statements by Bryan Danielson sparked a lot of worry among wrestling fans. While everybody loves to see his work inside the squared circle, perhaps it is better for him to hang up his boots for good. He had nothing left to prove, and the risk was no longer worth it.

Some netizens pointed out that there was a good chance that this angle was a work. AEW has already been telling a story about how Danielson is at the apex of his career, and his body is breaking down. If this were not the case, All In London 2024 could have been a great place for the American Dragon to retire. He could’ve done it at one of the biggest wrestling stages and put over a star like Swerve Strickland.

Fans have noticed that many superstars also tone down the intensity in their wrestling style as they get older. Although Danielson loves his current style of wrestling, this may be necessary if he still wishes to continue in the ring. Despite these issues, he continues to do dangerous acts in the ring. Regardless, the AEW World Champion has already announced that once he loses his title, he will retire from the sport.
