The 2024 season is also not looking good for the Carolina Panthers after the disastrous last season with a 2-15 record. With no major addition in the offense, quarterback Bryce Young struggled to score above 10 points in each of the two games this season.
The second-year quarterback and the entire team are visibly frustrated over the back-to-back failure, but most of all, they are upset by the lack of support by the fans. Even though teammates are supporting Young, he felt utterly emotional after being booed by a packed stadium on Sunday.
Among the many clips surfacing on the internet, fans found one moment where the former first-overall draft pick appeared to be on the verge of breaking down. At that moment, fans were quite loud with their booing over the Panthers’ signal-caller’s outing and as the camera panned to him, he was almost teared up.
The Panthers failed to score beyond three points against the Los Angeles Chargers, who succeeded with a blowout victory at 26-3 in week 2. The second-year quarterback posted another game with under 100 yards by logging a mere 84 yards and one interception.

Amid the intense backlash the 22-year-old quarterback is facing, two-time Pro Bowler Adam Thielen has once again come to his defense calling the criticism unjustified while putting forward the argument that Young doesn’t have a strong support system in the Panthers. Contrary to his words, he was seen quite frustrated after Sunday’s game while walking toward the sideline.

He further clarified that his frustration wasn’t because of the quarterback, though he got pretty upset when Young took a sack despite having him wide open. But at the end of the day, he understands the struggles of the young signal-caller and doesn’t believe in blaming him for the team’s failure solely.
A significant change has occurred as the Carolina Panthers have benched 2023 No. 1 overall pick, quarterback Bryce Young, in favor of Andy Dalton.
The news was first reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. This move isn’t entirely unexpected, with the Panthers sitting at 0-2 and Young struggling, having thrown for only 245 yards, no touchdowns, three interceptions, and taking six sacks while completing just 55.4% of his passes.
