Bryce Young has had a lot to take in this season. First playing badly enough to be benched. Then come back to show that, given a bit more confidence, he can play in the NFL at a high level. Against the Philadelphia Eagles, though, he and the Carolina Panthers had a tough task trying to win his third game of the season.
Around nine minutes into the fourth quarter, the Eagles were up by six points. They were forced to convert a two-point play as Bryce Young had led his team to score a touchdown and hold the lead at that point.
Knowing that, the Philadelphia Eagles‘ defense was not going to take any chances in their attempts to stop him. He gradually made his way up the field with a few short throws and then broke into the Eagles half with an 11-yard scramble to end out of bounds.
That play brought up the intensity of the game as Young looked set on scoring again as his confidence kept surging. On the next 1st and 10, the Panthers resorted to the run again. However, Eagles safety CJ Gardner-Johnson wanted to stop it the run before it got out of hand and tackled Chuba Hubbard for just a two-yard gain.

But after that tackle, he stayed on the ground writhing in pain. Seeing this, Bryce Young was captured on camera, lowering his head and praying for the injured player. What made it interesting for players, fans and media covering the game was that Young was praying for an opponent.
Bryce Young looking more confident with every game
The Carolina Panthers once looked to possibly be the worst team again in football. However, Bryce Young led his team to two consecutive victories to ensure they gained some respect in the football world. They haven’t won games since then but have shown enough fight to scare some top ranked teams.
In this game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Panthers threatened to do that again. In Young’s last drive of the game, he did do something that sent the NFL world talking. Scrambling out of a collapsed pocket in their end zone, avoiding a safety and then throwing a ball to lead his Panthers down the field.
Such confidence should bode well for a future that once looked bleak. They have four games left in this NFL season. Out of that, three are winnable if they keep working on improving their game. The next two are at home, where they can get those W’s, giving them an improvement over last season.
The improvement in confidence from Bryce Young is also going a long way to give the franchise confidence. Now they are a few good players away from getting closer to a .500 season. The quarterback can hope to get better weapons next season.
