Bryson DeChambeau has already started playing some mind games. The LIV Golfer recently issued a Ryder Cup warning to Rory McIlroy following the cold treatment he received from him during the 2025 Masters Tournament.

The two golfers were paired up as the final group for the final round of the Masters Tournament. The two of them had previously fought during the U.S. Open in 2024, where DeChambeau sparked an incredible comeback to snatch the major title away from McIlroy.

In the final round of the Masters Tournament this year, McIlroy gave the 2-time major champion a silent treatment and did not speak with him during the entire round. Following his historic triumph at the Augusta National, the Northern Irish golfer expressed that he was just trying to “win” the Masters and not trying to be his “best mate“.

During the Premiere of Adam Sandler‘s Happy Gilmore 2, DeChambeau spoke about McIlroy and the upcoming Ryder Cup. While he is technically not a part of the team yet, the American golfer insisted that he would ‘chirp‘ McIlroy all the time if he got the chance to face him in the biennial event.

I’ll be chipring in his ear this time. Now, if we go up against each other, I mean you can be sure of it. I’ll get into his ear a little bit.

So far, only two players have officially qualified for the 2025 Ryder Cup at the Bethpage Course in New York. World No.1 Scottie Scheffler has booked his place from the American side. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy is the first European golfer to qualify for this event for Team Europe.

Keegan Bradley recently claimed that Bryson DeChambeau will be on Ryder Cup team

Keegan Bradley, the captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup team, recently made a huge statement regarding Bryson DeChambeau. The 39-year-old claimed that the LIV Golf star will be part of the Ryder Cup team.

Following the 153rd Open Championship, DeChambeau finds himself 5th in the Ryder Cup team standings. The top 6 golfers will automatically qualify for the event. A total of 6 players from 7th to 15th will then be selected by the captain.

Unlike DeChambeau, the other members on the standings still have a few events to earn rankings points and improve their standings. If the 2-time major champion falls out of the top 6 standings, he could become one of the picks of Bradley.

The U.S. Captain has already confirmed that DeChambeau will be part of the team. While speaking with Sports Illustrated during the Open Championship, Bradley expressed that he will be an important piece for winning the cup.

Bryson is going to be a very important piece to us winning the Ryder Cup. He brings so much. He brings energy, passion but most importantly, he’s one of the best players on the planet

Keegan Bradley said as per Sports Illustrated

DeChambeau had an impressive turnaround at the Open Championship. Following an opening round score of 78, the golfer bounced back with scores of 65, 68 and 64 in the next three rounds to finish T10 at Royal Portrush.

While speaking with the reporters, the 31-year-old golfer revealed that the message was a ‘personal’ one, but it meant a lot to him.

He put something in our lockers that was pretty inspirational…it’s personal. It’s a personal message. …It meant a lot. This year’s no joke. We’re tired of it. We’re tired of losing.

Bryson DeChambeau told the reporters

In 2023, Team Europe would start strong and leave Team USA chasing them. At one point, World No.1 Scottie Scheffler broke down in tears as the opponents kept on crushing them.

Despite a fight back and a dramatic finish on Day 2, Team Europe would walk away as comfortable winners with a 16.5-11.5 score. They are now looking to go back-to-back and take the trophy back to Europe under the leadership of Luke Donald.
