Brooks Koepka‘s departure from LIV Golf shook up the golfing world. With his return to the PGA Tour confirmed on Monday, there were questions regarding the future of other LIV Golf stars, including Bryson DeChambeau. The 2-time major champion committed his future to the Saudi-backed tour and snubbed the chance of returning to the PGA Tour.
Koepka, the former World No.1, left LIV Golf in December 2025. After spending 4 years with them, the golfer informed the PGA Tour about his intention to return to them.
On Monday, the tour issued a statement regarding this. CEO Brian Rolapp announced the establishment of the Returning Member Program, a one-time window for golfers who wanted to return to the tour.
As per this program, golfers who have been away from the tour for at least 2 years and have won The Players Championship, Masters Tournament, PGA Championship, U.S. Open or the Open Championship from 2022 to 2025, will be eligible for this program.
Along with Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, and Cameron Smith are the only three golfers who meet the criteria for this program. DeChambeau won the U.S. Open in 2024, Rahm won the Masters in 2023, while Smith came out victorious at the 2022 Open Championship.
During the captain’s press conference at LIV Golf Media Day, DeChambeau turned down the chance to return to the tour and dropped a simple statement while committing his future to LIV Golf.
I’m contracted through 2026, so I’m excited about this year.

The 32-year-old has been one name who has been linked with a return to the PGA Tour. Last year, there were some reports which claimed that he and LIV Golf were unable to come to a contract extension. He would later debunk this report.
Earlier on Tuesday, he sparked some buzz on social media after posting a cryptic message. In his Instagram story, he would post a photo of himself with a shrugging pose near an exit sign and ask the fans, “What would you do?“

DeChambeau’s contract does run until the 2026 season. However, he is expected to re-sign with them and is reported to be in negotiations regarding a contract extension.
Jon Rahm and Cameron Smith join Bryson DeChambeau in staying with LIV Golf
Just like Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Cameron Smith have both turned down the chance to return to the PGA Tour. On Tuesday, the two captains expressed their commitment to LIV Golf.

While speaking with the reporters, Rahm claimed that he is not going anywhere and that his focus was winning the championship title again with his team, Legion XIII.
I’m not planning on going anywhere. I wish Brooks the best. As far as I’m concerned, I’m focused on the league and my team this year, and hopefully we can repeat as champions again.

Rahm joined LIV Golf in December 2023 and became one of their biggest signings in recent years. The Spaniard was the reigning Masters Champion when he joined the league, having won the green jacket in April that year.
Meanwhile, Cameron Smith also declined the chance to return to the tour. Despite having a rough season in 2025, where he missed the cut in all 4 major championships, the Australian International is happy to stay with LIV Golf.
I made a decision to come here and I stand by it.

Smith joined LIV Golf in August 2022, a month after he won the 2022 Open Championship. This shocked some fans as he repeatedly declined to confirm or deny rumors of him being linked with a move to LIV Golf.
Speaking of the new season, LIV Golf will kick start their 5th campaign on February 4 at LIV Golf Riyadh in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This will be their first event, which will feature 72 holes as they adapted this format in the offseason.
