The premier stock car racing series, the NASCAR Cup Championship, has one of the longest schedules of any elite motorsport’s championship in the world. It features 36 normal races and two exhibition races, with season starting in February, with The Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium and ending with the season finale in November at Phoenix Raceway.
The long schedule gives the racer just the month of December away from the whole social side of NASCAR, according to Bubba Wallace. The 23XI Racing star driver in a recent Rubbin Is Racing podcast appearance highlighted that many racers in the community wants the season to be reduced, as the one-month gap isn’t enough.
The thing is you only get the month of December off. From the social side of things that ramps up week one for me, it was week one of January, and then leading up into the Clash now, it’s you get one month off.
Bubba Wallace said via Rubbin Is Racing.
The TRD driver then admitted that he thinks NASCAR isn’t ready to start conversation around the how to reduce the schedule. But everyone in the garage agrees that the schedule needs to be condensed.
So, I mean, yeah, I think we all are agreeing that it’s too long, but I don’t know if we’re ready to have the conversation of what it’s going to take to condense it the right way.

Bubba Wallace urges NASCAR to make rules on cautions
One of major discussions after the Daytona 500 was the inconsistency in throwing caution during the races. Bubba Wallace via the Door Bumper Clear podcast heighted that NASCAR has to stop making the white flag in the final lap.

Stop making the white flag the final lap. No, if a caution comes out, just keep lining back up, keep going. I mean, it’s the biggest race of the year, the Daytona 500, and you want it to end that way? I’m always on here just saying.
Bubba Wallace said via DBC podcast.
The points from Wallace are something many in the community align with as the race officials needs to step up and end the inconsistent rulings during the races. It would be interesting to see how NASCAR is going to respond to the growing criticism from the stock car racing community.
