23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace’s spotter Freddie Kraft has claimed his boss Denny Hamlin should worry about a potential payback from Kyle Larson. He believes the retaliation is inevitable and asks his boss to be ready to face the aggressive racing from his friend.

Kyle Larson and Hamlin clashed at Pocono last Sunday, where the No:11 Joe Gibbs Racing driver walled the No:5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy and went on to win the race. It was the 59th Cup race win of the veteran drivers Cup career. It wasn’t the first incident involving the duo in 2023. Hamlin pulled off a similar move earlier this season to score a win over the 2021 Cup champion in Kansas.

While talking about the drama from Pocono on the Dirt Mo Media “Door Bumper Clear” podcast, Kraft was convinced that the Chevy driver would retaliate against his boss, Denny Hamlin. He said that Larson is in a position where he has to do something. Otherwise, he will get treated the same in such a situation by fellow Cup drivers.

But in Kyle’s mind, this is two races now that Denny’s ran him very hard and cost him wins. You have to do something about this, or it’s gonna keep happening to you. So inevitably, when this does come back to him, and Kyle does something in return, or anybody really did cost Denny a win. He has to react the way he expects everybody else to react,” Karft claimed.

Larson is the driver the Toyota driver holds a high opinion about and is among the few drivers younger than his that has earned his respect. More than that, they are good friends off the track and even golf together. So it is easy to understand the extra frustration Larson might have had after the incident. After all, he didn’t expect his friend to race him in such a way.

In his podcast “Action Detrimental,” the three times Daytona 500 winners claimed that he gets how frustrated Larson is as he has been in that position many times.  He pointed out that most times, straight after such an incident, your feeling about the incident will be determined by the outcome, and Larson being on the losing side makes his day hard.

There was a winner, and there is a loser. And he got the losing end of a racing deal. I understand that I have been in that scenario. I wasn’t happy either. Of course, the emotions flipped from you think you did right, you think you did wrong because of what the result was to you. I guess it’s more complicated than that in a lot of scenarios,” Hamlin said.
