Following his departure from the Cleveland Browns after hitting rock bottom because of a torn labrum, Baker Mayfield went through three different teams before finally finding his home in Tampa Bay. When he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he was replacing the legend Tom Brady which made many question whether the franchise made the right decision with him.
But with his accolades on the football field in his debut season, the quarterback proved he was just what the Bucs needed after Brady. He is coming off a remarkable season by leading the Bucs to their third consecutive NFC South title and advancing to the divisional round game of the playoffs.

Mayfield finally found stability in the Bucs after retaining his old form, which he had been craving since his ejection from Cleveland. In a recent appearance on the Mike Calta show, the Bucs star quarterback opened up about how he was embraced in Tampa Bay after comparing himself to a ‘piece of dirty laundry.’
You're having a lot more fun when you're not getting shipped off to different places like a piece of dirty laundry, I'll tell you that. So, when I got embraced in Tampa, it made a world of difference. I've always played ball to enjoy it. I mean, it is a game. Yes, it is my job, but I love it so much.Baker Mayfield said
Mayfield also expressed his excitement to remain with the Bucs for more years after signing the lucrative extension for three years worth $115 million.

I'm so excited for having more years to come in Tampa for people to just get to know me a little bit better, truly realize that's not just a show on the field. That's who I am when it comes down to the football aspect. I love it. I'd do anything for our team and our locker room guys know that.Baker Mayfield added
