James Cook started the 2024 season really well, gaining 71 yards from carrying the ball 19 times in week 1. Cook continued his form even after the Bills hit a wall in the last couple of games.
The 25-year-old is among quarterback Josh Allen’s favorite targets, but recent reports suggest that he might have to rethink his strategies.
According to WIVB TV reporter Nick Veronica, James Cook is under police investigation after a proprietor of a nightclub lodged a complaint that the running back ran up a bill and left without paying.
A police report posted by Veronica on X revealed that David Robida, who is the owner of the Venu Nite Club, complained that Cook bought a $600 bottle of Don Julio, a $200 bottle of Belaire, a bottle of Fiji water at $40, and a $20 energy drink, which totaled to $1,028, from his establishment on September 21, 2024. However, Cook left without paying the bill.
The nightclub owner issued a clarification on James Cook’s dine-and-dash situation
After the police complaint became public knowledge, the establishment issued a new statement. They provided a fresh perspective on what happened on that night and the following days.
According to the nightclub authorities, celebrities are frequent visitors to their place, and sometimes mistakes do tend to happen. However, they bear no ill will toward Cook because of the way he handled the situation later on.
