Mikel Arteta‘s men got off to a running start as the Premier League kicked off on Friday night. Arsenal took on Wolves at home for their first game of the 2024–25 season on Saturday night. As usual, Arsenal had star man Bukayo Saka to thank, who scored and assisted in his side’s 2-0 win over Wolves. Fans were thrilled to see the 22-year-old pick up right where he left off last season.

Fans were aware that Arteta’s men would not have an easy outing against Gary O’Neil‘s side, despite the fact that they finished 14th last season. It didn’t take long for the Gunners to get off the mark, as former Chelsea man Kai Havertz leapt the highest to meet Saka’s inviting cross into the area. The score remained 1-0 for the next 50 minutes or so, before Saka took it upon himself to double his side’s advantage.

Saka dribbled into the area on his feared left foot before letting fly into the near post. Jose Sa could only watch on as the youngster opened his account for the new campaign.

The Englishman grabbed 16 goals and 9 assists last season as Arsenal heartbreakingly missed out on the Premier League title.

Fans thrilled as Saka continues red-hot form in new season

Bukayo Saka is by far Arsenal’s most threatening player going forward. The Englishman showed just why he deserves all the hype as he inspired the Gunners to a 2-0 win for their season opener. A fan commented that the 22-year-old is the face of the Premier League. Another claimed that his cold shrug celebration was one of the best in the league.

A fan was surprised to see just how much a 22-year-old could instill confidence in a fan base. Several football pages shared clips of the player’s performance as a fan commented that Saka had everything needed to lead Arsenal to the Premier League title. Arsenal supporters laughed at how Saka haters will struggle to find fault with his performance until next week.

In a post-match press conference, Mikel Arteta was seen comparing the youngster’s cutting inside to his left foot to that of how Messi used to in the past! He praised the quality of Saka on the ball and his ability to put the ball exactly where he wanted while shooting. As Saka nears his 23rd birthday, the best thing he can do is help Arsenal win their first Premier League title since 2003.
