Bukayo Saka’s injury has proved to be a major debacle for Arsenal in their race to win the Premier League title this season. Recent reports indicated the extent of his injury, as well as provided details on how long he would remain out and a potential return date.

The 23-year-old forward injured himself while attempting a cross during Arsenal’s EPL encounter against Crystal Palace. In the 24th minute of the match, Saka fell to the ground while holding his leg in anguish. He was later substituted off, as he failed to continue.

Bukayo Saka has reportedly torn his hamstring muscle, a part of his leg that has remained troublesome over the past few seasons. It is a major blow to the team’s fitness struggles, as it marks Saka’s third time this season that he will remain out. Mikel Arteta had indicated that the forward would remain out for several weeks. However, he did not reveal the severity of Saka’s hamstring injury.

A complete tear might keep him out for at least three months. A moderate tear could take him between three and eight weeks to recover. It will surely be a test for Arsenal to play without their star player. He has provided 21 goal contributions in 24 appearances this season. Saka might miss the Gunners’ upcoming Carabao Cup and UCL encounters until next year.

Moreover, Arteta would have to rely on his squad depth to carry out in Saka’s absence. Apart from the 23-year-old, veteran forward Raheem Sterling also sustained a knee injury. It occurred while he was training for the club, adding to the Gunners’ injury woes.

Arsenal offered opportunity to sign PSG starlet on loan, following Bukayo Saka’s recent injury

The Gunners have reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani on loan following Bukayo Saka’s recent hamstring injury. The Englishman recently injured himself, just days ahead of the January winter transfer window.

This has prompted the Gunners to rethink their transfer strategy. Kolo Muani would be an excellent option for Arsenal temporarily. He was previously rated as one of Europe’s most promising forwards, following his 2022 World Cup heroics. However, he has failed to live up to expectations, scoring just twice in 14 appearances for PSG this season.

Arsenal is likely to be offered the option to sign the Frenchman on loan for the rest of the season. However, it remains to be seen whether Mikel Arteta signs a new forward or considers his own squad to fill in for the injured Saka.
