Arsenal remains second and six points away from Premier League leaders Liverpool. However, the gap didn’t stop the Gunners from absolutely humiliating opponents West Ham United on Saturday at London Stadium.

Goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Magalhaes, Leandro Trossard, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard headlined the stellar display. Arsenal got straight to business in the tenth minute of the game. Their star player Saka set up Gabriel Magalhaes for a headed finish from a corner.

Saka claimed his second assist of the night as he set up Leandro Trossard with a selfless pass from in front of goal. Odegaard’s perfectly placed penalty gifted Arsenal the third while Kai Havertz’s clinical finish two minutes later put the game thoroughly out of reach for the hosts.

A brief spell for West Ham saw them make a valiant effort to get back into the game. A composed strike from Aaron Wan-Bissaka and a spectacular free-kick from Emerson Palmieri cut short the deficit.

However, Saka finally put the game to bed in the final minutes of the first half from the penalty spot. With the win, Arsenal now has 25 points from 13 games.

Mikel Arteta ecstatic as ‘incredible’ Bukayo Saka continues to deliver

Following Arsenal’s tremendous victory over West Ham United, Mikel Arteta spoke to the press with high praise for his players. One particular star stood out for the Spaniard, as he highlighted the qualities that set him apart from the rest.

Speaking of none other than Bukayo Saka, Arteta rightly lauded the top assist provider in the League.

He was incredible. Even if the opponent knows what he’s going to do, he continues to do it and that’s credit to him.

Saka has been irreplaceable for Arsenal this season, with his 15 goal contributions being just one less than Mohamed Salah, who has 16 goals and assists combined.

Arteta also stated that his side now have the ‘momentum’ to go forward, but quickly grounded himself with the unpredictability of the competition. Arsenal’s next game in the Premier League is against Ruben Amorim‘s Manchester United, after which a trip to Craven Cottage awaits against Fulham.
