In an entertaining match which took place in the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich were defeated by Frankfurt 2-1.Bayern were in control of the possession from the start with Goretzka and Kimmich dictating the play. Bayern were pressing Frankfurt dangerously and deservedly took the lead through Goretzka after Hinteregger’s fault.

Frankfurt replied immediately with Hinteregger in the 31st minute who scored a brilliant header. Bayern kept looking for a second goal with Muller and Sane going close. Bayern started the second half rather poorly with losing possession but regained the momentum with Lewandowski going close.

After soaking the pressure Frankfurt broke on the counter through Kostic and he drilled a great goal pass Neuer into the far corner.This was Nagelsmann’s first loss since taking over. Frankfurt would be delighted with the result as they move 13th.

Bayern Munich

Manuel Neuer (GK) (7/10) The Bayern Munich goalkeeper didn’t have much to do and was neat and tidy in passing but made an excellent save of Touré.

Niklas Sule (8/10)Sule looked dangerous from the right flank with his through balls and dangerous crosses. His presence was dangerous for Frankfurt who struggled.

Alphonso Davies(8/10)Davis was solid and ever lively. Passed well and dictated the play from the left flank brilliantly. His pacy runs were a menace.

Joshua Kimmich(7.5/10)Kimmich made some positive passes into the midfield for Bayern Munich and played sleekly with holding the ball well and intercepting Frankfurt passes.

Dayot Upamecano (6/10)Upamecano was poor today. His lazy passes gave possession away and he was nutmegged for Frankfurt’s second goal which he could have avoided.

Lucas Hernandez(8.5/10)Hernandez was solid at the back but unfortunately conceded 2 goals which he couldn’t stop. His form has been excellent.

Leon Goretzka(8.5/10)Goretzka was the best player for Bayern Munich today with a glorious goal in the first half. His passing was intricate with what was the controlling force.

Thomas Muller( 7/10)Muller was playing the number 10 role brilliantly in the first half but dipped in the second half with losing possession and making lazy passes.

Leroy Sane(7.5/10)Sane had an average game for Bayern Munich with some bright chances in between the game which he squandered . He was a bit off.

Serge Gnabry(7/10)Gnabry seemed off today and did not create many chances except for a few bright moments . He hit the post once.

Robert Lewandowski( 7.5/10)Lewandowski was poor as compared to his standards. He was constantly pressed by Frankfurt and wasn’t given enough room to make something happen.

Substitutes

Jamal Musiala (7/10)Replaced Gnabry in the 70th minute and did a decent job by performing his duty with rotating the ball well. Got some minutes under his belt.

Sabitzer(7.5/10)Replaced Sule and gave a new life to Bayern with his fresh legs and looked dangerous. Should have started the game

Eintracht Frankfurt

Kevin Trapp (GK) (8/10)Trapp made some fine stops especially near the post against Sane and Lewandowski and was sturdy throughout the game.

Timothy Chandler (7.5/10)Chandler was decent with the passing and made promising runs in behind which were a constant threat to Bayern. Chandler was decent.

Martin Hinteregger(8/10)Hinteregger was solid and made important blocks and passed well. His mistake led to the Bayern goal but redeemed himself with a brilliant header just minutes after.

Tuta(7/10)Tuta was ever solid at the back and neutralised the Burnley attack with elegance. He looked shaky sometimes but dealt with the pressure brilliantly especially in the second half.

Almamy Touré(7.5/10)Touré looked sharp from the start and remained calm and composed and made attacking chances which troubled Bayern.

Stefan Ilsanker(7/10)Ilsanker was solid in defending but could have been better while passing. Made a few important interceptions which helped retrieve possession.

Kristijan Jakić(8.5/10)Jakic was playing well and was rotating possession really well. Tackled cleanly and made a few important interventions and his over-the-top balls were a constant menace to the Bayern defence.

Jesper Lindstrøm (7.5/10)Lindstrøm was quiet and made little effort in the press. His touches were poor and could have been better. Was replaced by Hauge.

Djibril Sow(7/10)Sow was tidy in possession and made important blocks which were important and tidy. Though he made some silly fouls. His positioning was immaculate.

Filip Kostić(8.5/10)Kostic had a great game today with this brilliant passing and crosses a constant threat to the Bayern Munich defence and scored a goal to put the icing on the cake.

Rafael Santos Borré(7/10)Borre was making runs in behind the defenders but could not contribute significantly to the game. He would be pleased with the result.

Jens Petter Hauge(7.5/10)Hauge was impactful today with his smart positioning and clever passes which troubled the slow legs of the Bayern defence.

Danny da Costa(7.5/10)Costa replaced Toure in the 61st minute and immediately Frankfurt became a force to reckon with. He was impactful and gave his best.
